Thank you for being you all a long the pageant. Hope to see you or talk to you when you come down to the valley. (visit me at work, ask Geles where). Love Grecia To everyone else that has been posting this wonderful messages that have really touched me I have never been talk about in this forum till now but am glad that it is good. But I wanted to thank you all for all your comments there are blessing honest. I know I did not win but in my heart I know I won something more than a title and a crown and that is the respect and the love from you all. which is much more important to me than a title. Some day will be my day when I will win , and I promise everyone that I will not let you all down. I am very shocked but I respect and I am okay with the judges decisions. The judges were asked to pick someone that in their opinion was a great representative to be Miss Texas Belleza LAtina and I know Liz will do that . I will continue how I had said continue trying as long as my sponsors can bear with me. Thank you and God Bless everyone. Love Grecia Padilla If there is ever anyone that needs help with anything do ever be scared to ask. I will always be willing to help out. :) |

Date Posted: 09/ 4/07 11:04:19pm I would have thought that the judges would have gone for a girl with a little more intelligence and ambition, while I'm not bashing Miss Mcallen (she's really a pretty girl) I happen to know that Corpus and Dallas are college graduates while Austin Hidalgo and Grecia are all pursuing higher education. I thought for sure they were going to make up the top five with their excellent backgrounds and impeccable answers. Maybe I'm mistaken in my assumption but I always thought pageants were supposed to be about more than looks. |

Date Posted: 09/ 5/07 11:58:43am I agree. Grecia won that night in the eyes of many. There was alot of talk from where I was sittig as well. I had never seen that happen before with Belleza Latina. It was clear who the winner was. But, oh well, it is always the judges opinion that counts. I agree 100% in the Teen Division. In the Miss, Grecia surely earned alot of respect from pageant fans. Sure hope the judges see her caliber next time. To Grecia: Winston Churchill once said, "Never, ever, ever give up" |
| [> [> [> [> [> Subject: "But, oh well, it is always the judges opinion that counts" - I don' t think the judges made that mistake. They had very qualified judges and two were queens themselves! It was either the auditor that calculated it all wrong or done on purpose. We all saw it with our own eyes! | |

| [> [> [> [> [> [> Subject: This has nothing to do with "ties". At South Texas, Christina deserved a top 3 seat and didn't get it. At Belleza, Grecia deserved more than she got too. With no disrespect to the judges, the way I see it is that the audience simply wants those heartbroken contestants to know that they did a great job. Pageants are great tools for experience but they can also beat you up emotionally as well. | |

| [> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> Subject: It means exactly what I said. Sometimes contestants don't get the placement that they earned. In this case, I think the audience now has a cumulative voice and want to make sure that those girls who ended up with the short end of the stick don't feel like they were less deserving. The audience is now using forums like this to continue to cheer on those that did not get the crown or the placement that the audience thought they deserved. We're kinda like arm-chair quarterbacks during the super bowl now. Get it? None of this has anything to do with who knows who better, director's favorites or some conspiracy theory that everyone always eludes to after a pageant. click in | |

Date Posted: 09/ 7/07 6:31:16pm Some of us know the disappointing feeling of being so close yet so far away from the crown. It can be an overwhelming feeling that makes some want to never enter another pageant again. It makes other strive further into themselves to get the crown the next time. I posted on here because I saw way back from table BFE the sparkle dull in Grecia's eyes when the top five were called out adn she was excluded. Never ever speaking to Grecia before in my life, I immediately went to her after the pageant to try to relieve her of that disappointment she must have initially felt. One of my best friends had an experience like that and it traumatized her for years. That is the last thing I ever want any of you to endure. This is why I feel it is extremely important to tell people that they did an exceptional job and should be proud of themselves. I don't say that to the undeserving. If I compliment you, then you should know it comes from my heart because I don't do it often... nor often enough. |

Date Posted: 09/ 6/07 11:06:55pm Grecia, you've been such an amazing support to our girls at Missy's and you've been such a great coach for my daughter and her pursuits, as well! I appreciate you because you understand that there's something great waiting for you. I saw you shine the other night, and we'll always be there to cheer you on (trust me, the old college cheerleader in me has a big voice!!)!! You embody class and the ability to walk away with your head held high for knowing you did your best. Bravo girlfriend!! I know there are some girls who had wonderful accomplishments that evening and I don't want to make their successes to be un-noticed. So, congrats to all of the winners............. but, Grecia you're our superstar!!! God bless you and your future challenges. Remember, "if God brings us to it, he'll bring us through it!!" All our love, Emilie and Miliah |

Date Posted: 09/ 8/07 12:50:08pm It was not Grecia's fault that she had preferential treatment and her mom allowed backstage. The diretors need to be careful because others may feel uncomfortable or less appreciated as a contestant. The director allowed her to get involved behind the scene to utilize her dance and choreogray talent. Every contestant pays the same amount of money to participate and should be treated equally. I'm sure It was not the director's intention, but perhaps just some appreciation towards Grecia for assisting with the dance. However, some parents did express the desire to be back there and were not allowed so yes it does look bad, but not for Grecia rather for the Production that allowed it as stated in other posts by other concerned parents. And Grecia, I don't think you owe anyone an apology. You have done nothing wrong. You were given permission to have your mom backstage and that is not your fault. |
| [> [> [> [> [> [> Subject: Who gave her permission? I don't think patty or ophie gave her permission. I think her mom just got back there before the pageant began and stayed there. The only thing I think Grecia should have done is double check. She saw that NO OTHER girl had their parrents there. Maybe she should have checked. | |

Date Posted: 09/ 9/07 1:12:58pm Again I am sorry, my mother has been with me backstage in every pageant with me, I am now going to be thinking about it twice, but I cannot afford to pay someone to be helping me backstage with hair and make up. I did ask and she even bought a ticket so I am sorry again for making anyone feel bad or not comfortable backstage. Thank you for the person that is saying something for me, but I am sorry these were not my intentions and I would like for my mom who is innocent if she can not be spoken of her anymore .. PLEASE . I ask with all respect to everyone and their parents. Thank you, Grecia Padilla GOD BLESS EVERYONE , AND GOD BE WITH YOU ALL IN EVERY STEP OF THEIR LIVES... |

Date Posted: 09/ 9/07 12:14:46am Well, 1st of all, I saw the judges face and I saw that they were a little suprised when they announced the top 5 girls. So, that was a little fishy. If they were suprised of the girls that were picked then maybe there was something wrong with the calcuations or something else. |
| [> [> Subject: There have been many times when I have judged a pageant and the judges have shown surprised faces. Not always is it a unanimous expression, but more "what did you see that I didn't". That is why I love judges having different backgrounds from different areas. They always look for something special and every judge is different. I am not all that surprised when people say the judge's looked shocked, but like I said they might have been shocked for different reasons. All it takes is one judge to completely fall in love with a contestant or completely dislike a contestant for the line up to change. | |
