The mandatory meeting at Shawnee is on Sunday, July 12 @ 3 PM. (Remember time difference). Our meeting (Gator Dawgs) will be immediately afterward. Don't know where we will be parked yet but will look for GatorDawg banners on team members trailers or ask a friend. You can also text or call me @ 912-617-2839. So as soon as the IFYR meeting is over, we will have pizza at my trailer. Will need a couple of moms to help out w/ this. We will need paper goods & drinks/ice. Hey Gator Dawg Team Members, won't be long before we leave for Shawnee. If you have any questions about the trip, please email me at jja1962@windstream.net; if you are looking for a place to stay the night, you can find many horse motels at www.horsemotelsinternational.com or google Horse motels & there will be several for each state. You may also want to talk with others who have been. For those of you who have been that may have suggestions, please list them.
Also, Any fund raisers or sponsorship for the team would be appreciated; They will get travel money & the more we get, the more in your pocket. The Silent Auction was successful but more would be even better for the kids (& their families). Please let me know! We are a non-profit organization so all sponsorship is tax deductible!

Please help us help our four legged friends. The Duval County Animal Care & Control Division needs the following items:
Purina Pate Style canned cat & dog food, brushes, combs, buckets, old towels & blankets, nail clippers, combs, brushes,medium cotton balls, medium leather muzzle, large leather muzzle,16 dram pill bottle(child resistant cap),furmanators, karanda beds, bleach, squeegee scrub brushes, dish washig liquid, bandanas (any seasoned pattern), feline pine. The Equestrian Center will have a donation box located outside of the Administration door (next to the snack machine)& will gladly accept any items you want to donate for this worthy cause while you are here at the Finals June 5th & 6th (just think what a difference we could make if each person brought just one can of cat or dog food) - Thanks and good luck to all competitors :-D

ON the ticket subject; I just called to order mine. You will be able to get them at the Gate in Shawnee from the Wednesday before rodeo starts thru Sunday Evening (July 12) for same price as phone order which is $88 per person for entire week (2 perfs per day). After that there will be no more booklets for week and tickets will be $10 per performance. The lady was not very professional that I spoke with so my recommendation would be to get them when you get there. Just make sure that you don't forget to do so.

Gator Dawg Team Members: Remember to take your horse papers w/ you to Shawnee. Have all paperwork current. Also take the completed Horse Registration paper with you (one for each horse). Make copies if necessary.

THE bright green sheet that was in your packet from Shawnee has ticket info on it. These tickets are for parents or whoever will need entry tickets to the rodeo. Usually an armband is offered for the entire week. The contact for this is 405-447-3623 or email gopremieretickets.com. You will purchase them here & pick them up at WILLCALL once you are there. They are also available at the gate but usually cost a little more plus you may have to wait in line.

I noticed on the recap sheets that some of you did not reserve stall. Well, we will still be charged a certain amount for those of you that tie up even for a couple of hours. So please get w/ me on this. Or you will be ask to leave. Please don't assume that the association can afford to pay at your expense!
Also, if you did not pay for a banquet ticket you will not be entered. THIS WILL BE ENFORCED. The place isn't free! THANKS OR YOUR CONSIDERATION INTO THESE MATTERS! To make things work, we need your support!

We have a Chestnut Gelding for sale. You can breakaway, tie down, heel and Goat Tie on Stitch. He is an awesome teacher. No bad habits. Quiet in the box. Just take him to the rodeo and he will put you where you need to be. You don't have to use him in the practice pen. On the Recap sheet for Finals, I think there is a misunderstanding. Where it says golf carts, you are to make your reservations there. The rental is not $17 per day - that fee is for T-shirts (Sizes S-L are $15 & XL is $17). That is not the price of Golf Carts. You must contact them to find out the price. Sorry for the misunderstanding!

ATTENTION COWBOYS AND COWGIRLS: The Tri-State Calf Ropers Assoc. is offering a special HALF PRICE membership to all students K through 12. You DO NOT have to be a FHSRA, AFJRA, etc. member. You DO have to be in school, including home school. Special membership fees for students are: Calf Roping $40, Breakaway Roping $15. The TSCRA is a non-profit organization promoting the sport of calf roping in a fair competition by properly handicapping our members. Calf Roping is for all ages, Breakaway Roping is for boys 14 years and younger, men 55 years old and older, open to all women. Next event is this weekend April 25th at Tom Kelly’s Sunset Ranch in San Antonio. Enter at 5:00 PM rope at 6:00 PM. Entry fees calf roping 3 head for $120, breakaway 3 head for $60. I know it's getting warmer out there, but remember to stay in "Dress Code." Last rodeo, we collected a fine from a contestant. WE don't always see it but if we do, please know that we will have to fine you ($50).
It's something that is no fun at all but if you ask for it... then we have no other option. So please - dress code- 30 minutes before & after.

I really want to thank Mrs. Mel Underbrink for a wonderful rendition of the National Anthem. My, how beautiful!!! It was awesome. If I hadn't know better, I woulda thought I was at the NFR, parent talent & ALL!!! No, but thanks Melba for doing that. It was truly beautiful.

Please be patient on the points, like I mentioned, we are on Spring Break & I am being allowed to tag along with my two seniors! How lucky am I? Will have them up soon, I promise.

Here is the recipe for Eclair Cake for those of you who wanted it. Enjoy!

Topping (Make first so it can cool)
1 Stick butter
1 c. graulated sugar
1/3 c. cocoa
1/4 c. milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/8 tsp. salt
Melt butter, add sugar, cocoa and milk. Bring to boil and cook for 1 minute. REmove from heat and add vanilla and salt. Let cool.

Batter
2 boxes Jello Instant Vanilla Pudding Mix
3 c. milk
8 oz. Cool whip
Mix pudding and milk. Fold in cool whip.

Bottom
1 Box graham crackers

In 9x13 dish, put a layer of graham crackers. Spread half of pudding mix over crackers. Put second layer of crackers and cover with remaining pudding mix. Add last layer of graham crackers and top with chocolate topping. Refrigerate.

She does have one problem and it's that she is a cribber, but when you keep a collar on her she will not crib. The guy that owned her before I did, had won a truck on her. It’s been a week since our world went upside on the roller coaster we call life. We want to thank each of you for all of your prayers, positive thoughts and energy to help us get through Skyler’s tumble in Ocala. The neurosurgeon and team at Shands have determined that her C2 is an anomaly, a normal variant. Leave it to Skyler to be different and scare the $#%! out of the world. Xrays in Ocala and two doctors found what looked like a fracture of her C2. We all looked at it and can see it on the xrays. We immediately transported her to Shands. After a catscan and many xrays, they bring her back to us and take her away for more, the staff at Shands said she is normal and very lucky to have severe thoracic and cervical strain. She was born with her C2 looking like this. Skyler has therapy and massage scheduled several times a week to help with the strain. Each of you helped to bring Skyler through this and we are blessed to have so many wonderful friends. Thank you may seem like small words but all of you are a huge part of our life.

Now parents, I can only assume that you all are gearing up for the "Parent Rodeo." I know you have all been running, walking or something of that nature to get in shape. You know this will definitely be a "challenge." I know, coz I have already got some stories about their practice sessions! HAH! Wish I could share them with you. ANd might! Nah, but we gotta get in shape, can't let these kids show us up! So, get your tennis shoes on & start legging up for this. I will check back in a couple of days to see how it's going. I know many of you have asked what to wear to the ball!?? For cowboys - Khaki's & nice shirt & for cowgirls - homecoming type dresses, short or long. You don't have to go out & spend a fortune (unless you want to). Just a nice dress that you feel comfortable in. And you are exempt of your back numbers for this. No matter what you wear, you will all look beautiful.

Get well to Mr. Lanis Lane who had shoulder surgery on Friday, will keep you posted of his condition. We are hoping he will be well for Lake City so he can show us how to dance (hah)!

Mr. Kenny Mills of Live Oak passed away this am (Dec. 29). Our thoughts & prayers go out to Ms. Lisa, Ashley & Heather Mills as well as Mr. Kennys mom/dad, Justin, Ronda & Jay Johnson.

Don't under estimate the power of pray! Brooke Sallies mother came to me Sunday as soon as our churh services was over at Smitty's. She was having to rush to the hospital because the doctors said that Brooke's brother Mikey was in extremly bad conditions and chances were very slim that he was going to make it. With lots of prayer and faith, praise was given at church the next Sunday! Mikey came home on Wednesday. The nurse said to him she was suprised he made it, let alone going home so soon. Mikey told her it was prayer to his Lord and Savior and gave Him the credit. So please don't forget the Power Of Prayer! Praise be to Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

Consistent 2D Barrel Horse
Seminole Smoke, 8 year old big bay gelding, son of Special Feelings out of Special Effort. Smoke was only started on barrels 2 years ago, and is currently placing in the 2D. NBHA Youth World Qualifier. He would easily be a 1D horse, but I do not have time due to college. Very gentle, but can be a strong runner. Kid safe. Great bloodlines (half-brother to the 2006 NFR winner- Dynas Plain)Has been started on poles. Asking $10,000.

Mr. Charlie Coleman (Wesley/Cody's dad) fell & broke his leg on Tuesday, I think. Please say a prayer for him. Mr. Charlie is such a great person, always willing to step in & help wherever & whenever. Get well, Mr. Charlie!

Thanks to all that helped out over the weekend. I appreciate all of you moms for the delicious dishes and to Laurel Henry for donating the hotdogs/buns for the dinner. It was great to spend time with everyone!

Thanks to Mr. Smitty for donating the 2 free pairs of Ariat boots to our hard working cowboys - J.T. Wynn & Will Bradley! Also for the raffle items that were given away for the weekend.

To all that went to visit Mr. Kenny Mills, we appreciate you taking the time to do this & I am sure that it meant alot to him! We will continue to pray for him & his family.

The weather turned out well & we all had a great time! We would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas!

And to Brook Sallie's family, we are praying that your brother will get well soon! Continue him in your prayers. \

I wanted to let you know, and everyone else that I had a meeting this morning with our insurance company. They have donated to GFYRA every year! Merril Hancok and Turner Insurance. She told me, mom, and dad that she has recieved Thank You's from the kids and parents and how much it meant to her and her staff!! She said she has never had an association do that before! Sooooo, with times being hard and difficult to get these sponsor's I just wanted to let you guys know how IMPORTANT the Thank You's are!! Mrs. Turner said with that, that she would continue to ALWAYS donate to GFYRA!! So a Big Good Job to those of you who take the few extra minutes to send them!! Keep up the good work! Jackie and Mark you should be proud!

Tonight, (Monday-Dec. 8) is call in/out for Lake City this weekend! Remember on Friday, Dec. 12, there will be an open Barrel Race @ Smitty's (sponsored by the GFYRA). Exhibition @ 7:30 with 3D Open @ 8:30 PM. $20 per run. 80% payback!

On Saturday evening there will be an Open 8 HD Progressive Team Roping sponsored by the GFYRA. This will be a Progressive after 1-12 Handicap. Sign up @ 6 PM with Roping to start @ 7 PM.

At 5:30 on Saturday, we will have our Chili/ Hotdog supper! Moms bring your favorite Chili or Brunswick Stew!

We will also be watching the FINAL ROUND of the NFR on the big screen & under tent! FUNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!! See ya there!

Hey everyone! My dad put that last message and tried to play it off like it was me... he's pretty funny.

Anyway, I should elaborate on what my father said about my horse for sale. Chicken man is a 12 year old paint (breeding stock)gelding that ropes both ends, breakaways, and you can tie goats off of him. He was broke by Ted Chancey and Nelson, and he is VERY VERY broke! He also won the horsemanship in the 2007 FJRA queen contest. He's extremely calm and smart and WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU! I learned to rope off of him and he always had more to give when I was ready to ask for it. He's taken me to the IFYR 2 years in a row and I wouldn't give this horse up if I had a choice so he can ONLY go to a good home! Asking $9,000
