One of these girls is missing the 2004 Barrel buckle and belt lost at our first rodeo at Lady Lake. I now have the belt and buckle so that I could research. I know it is not Skyler's or Caroline's.

TREASURES

But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
Matthew 6:20-21

My advice to barrel racers is to fix your eyes to the point passed the barrel you want to go if you look at the barrel you will most likely hit it. I think also and you can correct me team ropers if I’m wrong you are suppose to fix your eyes on the right horn in order to rope the steer or you will miss. I think ya’ll get my point. Here the eye is the light of the body the heart is the (thoughts and mind). So if we let the light shine in the correct direction then the will be in one accord with the Lord. Just like having a single eye on your steer or ground where you want your horse to turn you and your horse will be one together. So keep your eyes fixed on Jesus because all that is going to matter in the end is the treasures that we lay up in heaven.

Preacher,Brittani and I wish ya'll a special blessing in your lives this Thanks Giving see ya'll Dec. 1.

Hey,

I just wanted to share a little something from Gods Word that he has been showing me. I know life can get busy or overwhelming and its hard to find time to read his word. So I thought I would just share what he is showing me. Just read them and try and think on them thru out your day or evening so you can be lifted up.

Isaiah 40:28-29 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.

Isaiah 40:30-31 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

I know as youth with school, rodeo, chores, etc. ya'll have a lot on ya'lls plate so my pray is that you remember to wait on the Lord and meditate on is word so you can be streanghen.

May God bless and We Love ya'll

There are some incidents that have recently taken place in other associations that are not of any importance to the GFYRA! My suggestion this weekend is that I not hear a word about it as it doesn't pertain to this association. Please come to Jasper with a clear mind and understanding that no confrontations are to be tolerated. If however, they are, those people will be asked to leave. Let's all rid ourselves of gossip and negativity and enjoy our lives and our children as we have been blessed with the opportunity to do so. Have a great weekend, drive safe and above all, thank God for each and every moment of our lives!

What a great Lady Meme was in her lifetime. She always made my kids feel so important and special. She was one of their highlights of being in Fl Jr Rodeo. I am sure her family will forever miss her. She definately was the Queen of all the Rodeos. I'll never forget how shocked I was to learn her actual age and then she told me she had watched 4 generations of her kids Rodeo. Very few people in this world can say they had someone like that in their family. I am so glad that my family had the pleasure of getting to know her. She will always be remembered as one of the Rodeo Greats!

We are looking for workers for these positions! Please let me know if you are interested. If I have lots of requests then we may vote for positions; however, last year, I took the first volunteers. There is something to be said about volunteers! I would like contestants who are dedicated & willing to work as a team; helping out where & when needed.

WELL, part of my family is finally home. We had truck problems so the rest are still in Alabama getting repairs so they can get the horses/trailer home.
Anyway, wanted to update you all on our finish. After the adjustments to the team were made (i.e, they had Alicia Stockton & Cord Spradleys' points on the wrong team), we finished 5th over all! The first round, we actually won however, the 2nd round didn't go quite as well. 1st place went to Oklahoma w/ 208 points, 2nd place went to the Badwear team from Tx w/ 175 points, 3rd place went to Kansas w/ 164 points, 4th to Colorado w/ 148 & 5th to the GATORDAWGS w/ 134. Overall, I think we did pretty well considering the weather & all. Congratulations - GatorDawgs!
GatorDawgs -Team 2 I believe finished around 11th. Will update you on that when it is available. Thanks for everyones' participation to the GatorDawg TEAMS!!!!

Another update-I'm still here in Shawnee but they don't have team standings completed yet. I'm so very proud of everyone for doing so well this week. Going back to short go on our team were David Hudson, Caleb Sanderson, Jacoby Johns, Cord Spradley, Whitney Hazouri, Boone Gaines, Joshua Torres & Troy Hudson. Boone Gaines came out on top winning the Steer Wrestling Championship (Way to go Boone). Forgive me if I left anyone out, it's late, we're all so tired but we've had a fun week! I will keep you posted on team standings. Maybe I'll find out tomorrow before I leave. Thanks to all you parents & contestants for making this a fun time for all of the GatorDawgs! Its been a messy week here in Oklahoma but we've made the best of it.
Just ask the Henry family how soon they want to visit Sallisaw, OK again! What a memory!!!!

Guess I should be more specific. Cord Spradley split first place in the calf roping in the first round. Caleb Sanderson won the first round of Bull Riding. Boone Gaines got 2nd in Steer Wrestling & last night was a 3.9 on his 2nd steer so I believe that he is winning Steer Wrestling right now. Chasey Bass got 2nd place in first round in Saddle Bronc. These are winners in the top 5 right now. We've had several good runs by Logan Barican, Ashley Reed, Alicia Stockton, Ashley Mills and forgive me if I've left someone off, I'm trying to keep track of everyone but there's so many people here & it's really busy. Thinking of so many people that helped to make the Finals a success, I also should put Ms. Phyllis Arnold @ the top of the list. Although, Alicia wasn't a finals contestant, Ms. Arnold, no less, was an angel in disguise for me. When I mentioned a few of the things I had to accomplish, she stepped up to the plate & assumed the responsibility of hosting the caterer for the BBQ. What a help this was & I sincerely appreciate her for doing this. She did a great job searching for the right people to get the job done as well as all of the errands of putting it all together. Toby's did a great job w/ the food & thanks, Phyllis for your willingness to help out whereever needed.

Thanks also to Mrs. Tammy Vanzant for bringing the paper goods for the banquet. That was a tremendous help as well.

OK, now that I have rested from the last couple of months, I would like to thank you all as well. I appreciate the compliments but more than anything, I appreciate you parents for giving me the opportunity to work w/ such great young cowboys & cowgirls! You have raised them all well & it shows throughout the year. I appreciate your smiles, your friendship & for allowing me the opportunity to do something that I love to do.

Thanks to Mr. Scully & the Karsons for their participation from such distances this weekend. What a blessing!

I would also like to say thanks to "Janie McManus & Kirsten" for always being there for whatever I need & doing to my satisfaction. Whenever I call or write, you get the job done right on time. We all appreciate "The Arena Record" for the preciseness, professionalism & organization. I know that it takes tons of time to complete a project like that. It doesn't go unnoticed. Thanks for covering us throughout the season. I look forward to each & every issue. It sincerely shows your dedication.

I would also like to say thanks to "Mrs. Danette Hazouri." You did a great job organizing the Queen Pageant this year. Both young ladies were beautiful inside & out! We appreciate you both participating. But to Danette,I can't say thanks enough. You did an outstanding job & always had a smile on your face & a willingness to do more. You are truly an amazing person.

I do have the current points available as well as some pics that MR. KEith sent. He will have proofs available probably today & you can visit his site @www.kmwphotography.com.

And again, thank you all from the bottom of my heart. And thanks to God for being my strength, guidance and sole source in decision making thoughout! WE will be seeing you soon in Shawnee, until then - Get some rest!!!
