I think that you need to change your name from GA/FLA Rodeo Association to JUST Florida Rodeo Association. You have NO rodeos in Ga. WHY? Folks from Ga. can't participate because of the far away locations. They simply can't afford the gas to go that far!! I thought this was for the kids?! It's a shame that you are punishing the kids that want to participate because their parents can't afford the gas. I don't see why the locations can't remain the same (or close to) as the past 4 years........oh yes I do, the Kirklands live in Florida.

I have a seasoned rodeo 7year old barrel horse "Tiny", money earnings in the IPRA and PCA, very consistent, turny horse. It can compete with the "big dogs", also it has competed at junior rodeos, just sit there and ride. This horse is also a very wicked 20 second pole horse. I am selling him because I have 6 barrel horses and I just got him on trade and sell him before I get to "attached". Also I dont high school rodeo so I don't need that caliber of a pole horse. 14 yr old bay AQHA gelding "Chump". Great junior rodeo horse, placed consistently in poles and barrels, saddle winner in 2007, multiple buckles. I'm moving up to high school rodeo. Very fun to be around, great personalty, very willing, very laid back but knows when it's time to work.

Also, 16 yr old POA mare. Used by beginner for poles and barrels, great for goat tying, used in parades, drill team and hunter jumper stuff. Great all around mare. 13.3 hands, super cute.

If apologize for not keeping you all postedf on the Gator Dawgs. I have been helping the kids get situated with moving away to college and been very busy. The Gator Dawgs came very close to winning coming in 2nd place. I was extremely proud of their efforts. Michele Allison was Reserve Champ Barrel Racer and Chase Hudson was Reserve Champ Bull Rider. Making it back to short go were Clint Summers,Blaine Bennetch, Michele, Chase, Jacoby Johns, Hunter Carter, Slade Bronson, James Greeson and forgive my memory but I believe it was Justin Oglesby. Correct me if Im wrong. I was very proud of our showing there. It was a long, hot week but one full of memories. Thanks to all of the contestants and their families for your support.

Hey Guys hope everyone has been doing well, miss the rodeo life but after school I hope to get back into it.
I have a few horses that I am trying to sell so that I can afford to move away for college either Texas or Kansas.

I have a 16yr old Grey Appendix mare, she is a finished barrel and pole horse, she would make a good Jr Rodeo horse for someone that can ride, has a small gate issue nothing big, runs in the 3D possibly faster with a lighter rider.Proven broodmare. Also her 09 colt!

4yr old Stud horse Docs Prescription, Five Times Leo. Green Broke, relaxed calm horse, he HAS MANNERS, very well behaved,will geld if purchaser requests.

Please help us help our four legged friends. The Duval County Animal Care & Control Division needs the following items:
Purina Pate Style canned cat & dog food, brushes, combs, buckets, old towels & blankets, nail clippers, combs, brushes,medium cotton balls, medium leather muzzle, large leather muzzle,16 dram pill bottle(child resistant cap),furmanators, karanda beds, bleach, squeegee scrub brushes, dish washig liquid, bandanas (any seasoned pattern), feline pine. The Equestrian Center will have a donation box located outside of the Administration door (next to the snack machine)& will gladly accept any items you want to donate for this worthy cause while you are here at the Finals June 5th & 6th (just think what a difference we could make if each person brought just one can of cat or dog food) - Thanks and good luck to all competitors :-D

ON the ticket subject; I just called to order mine. You will be able to get them at the Gate in Shawnee from the Wednesday before rodeo starts thru Sunday Evening (July 12) for same price as phone order which is $88 per person for entire week (2 perfs per day). After that there will be no more booklets for week and tickets will be $10 per performance. The lady was not very professional that I spoke with so my recommendation would be to get them when you get there. Just make sure that you don't forget to do so.

Gator Dawg Team Members: Remember to take your horse papers w/ you to Shawnee. Have all paperwork current. Also take the completed Horse Registration paper with you (one for each horse). Make copies if necessary.

THE bright green sheet that was in your packet from Shawnee has ticket info on it. These tickets are for parents or whoever will need entry tickets to the rodeo. Usually an armband is offered for the entire week. The contact for this is 405-447-3623 or email gopremieretickets.com. You will purchase them here & pick them up at WILLCALL once you are there. They are also available at the gate but usually cost a little more plus you may have to wait in line.

I noticed on the recap sheets that some of you did not reserve stall. Well, we will still be charged a certain amount for those of you that tie up even for a couple of hours. So please get w/ me on this. Or you will be ask to leave. Please don't assume that the association can afford to pay at your expense!
Also, if you did not pay for a banquet ticket you will not be entered. THIS WILL BE ENFORCED. The place isn't free! THANKS OR YOUR CONSIDERATION INTO THESE MATTERS! To make things work, we need your support!

We have a Chestnut Gelding for sale. You can breakaway, tie down, heel and Goat Tie on Stitch. He is an awesome teacher. No bad habits. Quiet in the box. Just take him to the rodeo and he will put you where you need to be. You don't have to use him in the practice pen. He has taught our daughter to rope and she has younger horses that need to be ridden. Has been hauled all over the country to high school and college rodeo's. Trained by Brad Culpepper. On the Recap sheet for Finals, I think there is a misunderstanding. Where it says golf carts, you are to make your reservations there. The rental is not $17 per day - that fee is for T-shirts (Sizes S-L are $15 & XL is $17). That is not the price of Golf Carts. You must contact them to find out the price. Sorry for the misunderstanding!

ATTENTION COWBOYS AND COWGIRLS: The Tri-State Calf Ropers Assoc. is offering a special HALF PRICE membership to all students K through 12. You DO NOT have to be a FHSRA, AFJRA, etc. member. You DO have to be in school, including home school. Special membership fees for students are: Calf Roping $40, Breakaway Roping $15. The TSCRA is a non-profit organization promoting the sport of calf roping in a fair competition by properly handicapping our members. Calf Roping is for all ages, Breakaway Roping is for boys 14 years and younger, men 55 years old and older, open to all women. Next event is this weekend April 25th at Tom Kelly’s Sunset Ranch in San Antonio. Enter at 5:00 PM rope at 6:00 PM. Entry fees calf roping 3 head for $120, breakaway 3 head for $60. Directions to roping I-75 exit 285, go east on Hwy 52 to traffic light in San Antonio, turn right, go to end of road 45 degree curve to left, next road on right Wirt Road, look for sign. If you want to camp together, please complete all of your paperwork & mail to me & I will forward to Shawnee. I would like to have all of this mailed to me by May 15th so that I can get it together & return to them. If you aren't interested in camping together then go ahead & send. I still need a lot of pictures for the year book, I need to know if people are interested in puchasing the book. The money will collected at the finals, but I need to know how many to order. The cost will be $35.00 and that can be paid when you pick up your packet at the finals, if you are not going to finals you can mail it to me. Dead line for money to be mailed is May 5, 2009

I just wanted to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers for Mom. She is doing awesome! The surgery was a huge success and now she is in physical rehab for a few days. We are so blessed!

Please remember Janie McManus, Kirsten & their family as Janies' mom passed away last night (Tuesday); Also remember Cindy Richards mom as she had a seizure on Saturday & found out she has a brain tumor.
