In reply to: Rev. Pete the Marine 's message, "Didn't she sing T.V. jingles in the 80's?" on 22:33:32 09/19/05 Mon

There was a Florence Warner who sang a "Hello, Wichita" t.v. commercial in the eighties. It went something like:

Makes no difference where I go;
You're the best hometown I know.
Hello, Wichita, Hello, Wichita,
Channel Three Loves You.

Could be she sang one here and in Nashville. Maybe she had one for every city with a t.v. station. It was a catchy jingle, and it's been stuck in my head ever since I read your post last night.

"Hello Nashville" and "Hello Wichita" were the same song, just lyrics altered to match the town.

GK - you're right - she sang the same song in a number of towns, changing only a few words to make the jingle fit. They WERE catchy!
