] Date Posted: 22:33:32 09/19/05 Mon If I remember right, Florence Warner was the one who sang the "Hello, Nashville" commercial in the mid-80's. Is this the same person? I don't remember her looking like that little girl in the brick window frame. [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |

Date Posted: 16:52:38 09/20/05 Tue There was a Florence Warner who sang a "Hello, Wichita" t.v. commercial in the eighties. It went something like: Makes no difference where I go; You're the best hometown I know. Hello, Wichita, Hello, Wichita, Channel Three Loves You. Could be she sang one here and in Nashville. Maybe she had one for every city with a t.v. station. It was a catchy jingle, and it's been stuck in my head ever since I read your post last night. GK |

Date Posted: 21:18:39 09/21/05 Wed Florence Warner sang on a bunch of commercials in the eighties. She also had a couple of albums, I believe. She had a quite appealing voice. |

That's two. Then there is one called "Just Believe it" with only two songs listed and two covers shown. Isn't "Out of the Blue" a single release? Is it from the "Just Believe it" album? Are there really only two songs on the entire album, or is this the A-side and B-side of a single? Did she release any (other) singles? |

Date Posted: 20:15:19 10/02/05 Sun There are ten songs on Just Believe It LP. Somewhere on the world wide web there's a picture of the back side of the LP with the songs listed on it. It had a front side of the LP too which looks different than the one shown on the website connected to this forum. Mine is ivory/cream, not gray like the one shown. And there's no song called just believe it. It's just the name of the album. |

Date Posted: 17:58:06 09/22/05 Thu In the seventies, I lived in Nashville when this record was released. It was pretty popular there and got some radio play. I think Florence used to sing on Teddy Bart's round table, which is where Oprah Winfrey got her start too -- did you know Oprah was a singer too?!! It was my impression that Florence's likeness was on the album cover. She would have been twenty-seven when that album was released, so maybe that was an earlier photo of her. |

Date Posted: 22:52:21 10/06/05 Thu Hey, I remember Oprah being on the Teddy Bart Waking Crew, but I don't remember her singing. And I just don't remember Florence Warner singing on there at all, but maybe she did. I remember about ten different people singing "My Eyes Adored You", including Teddy Bart. And that IS Florence in the brick window. |

Date Posted: 22:43:23 10/14/05 Fri When I was young, I loved the song "How much is that doggie in the window?" Our family took a trip to the west coast and we sang it a lot. Is this the girl in the window who sings "Doggie in the Window?" |

Date Posted: 22:49:10 10/14/05 Fri No, that was Patti Page, about 20 years ahead of Florence: --------------------------------------------------------- How Much Is That Doggie In the Window Words & Music by Bob Merrill Recorded by Patti Page, 1953 (#1) Refrain: C G7 How much is that doggie in the window, C The one with the waggley tail? G7 How much is that doggie in the window? C I do hope that doggie's for sale. C G7 I must take a trip to California C And leave my poor sweetheart alone; G7 If he has a dog, he won't be lonesome, C And the doggie will have a good home. Repeat Refrain: I read in the paper there are robbers With flashlights that shine in the dark; My love needs a doggie to protect him And scare them away with one bark. I don't want a bunny or a kitty, I don't want a parrot that talks; I don't want a bowl of little fishies He can't take a goldfish for walks. Repeat Refrain: The lyric and guitar chord transcriptions on this site are the work of The Guitarguy and are intended for private study, research, or educational purposes only. Individual transcriptions are inspired by and and based upon the recorded versions cited, but are not necessarily exact replications of those recorded versions. |
