In reply to: Rev. Pete the Marine 's message, "Didn't she sing T.V. jingles in the 80's?" on 22:33:32 09/19/05 Mon

In the seventies, I lived in Nashville when this record was released. It was pretty popular there and got some radio play. I think Florence used to sing on Teddy Bart's round table, which is where Oprah Winfrey got her start too -- did you know Oprah was a singer too?!!

It was my impression that Florence's likeness was on the album cover. She would have been twenty-seven when that album was released, so maybe that was an earlier photo of her.

Hey, I remember Oprah being on the Teddy Bart Waking Crew, but I don't remember her singing. And I just don't remember Florence Warner singing on there at all, but maybe she did. I remember about ten different people singing "My Eyes Adored You", including Teddy Bart.

And that IS Florence in the brick window.

When I was young, I loved the song "How much is that doggie in the window?" Our family took a trip to the west coast and we sang it a lot. Is this the girl in the window who sings "Doggie in the Window?"

No, that was Patti Page, about 20 years ahead of Florence:

---------------------------------------------------------

How Much Is That Doggie In the Window
Words & Music by Bob Merrill
Recorded by Patti Page, 1953 (#1)

Refrain:

C G7
How much is that doggie in the window,

C
The one with the waggley tail?

G7
How much is that doggie in the window?

C
I do hope that doggie's for sale.

C G7
I must take a trip to California

C
And leave my poor sweetheart alone;

G7
If he has a dog, he won't be lonesome,

C
And the doggie will have a good home.

Repeat Refrain:

I read in the paper there are robbers
With flashlights that shine in the dark;
My love needs a doggie to protect him
And scare them away with one bark.

I don't want a bunny or a kitty,
I don't want a parrot that talks;
I don't want a bowl of little fishies
He can't take a goldfish for walks.

Repeat Refrain:
