Since I never have time to do anything anymore and today is my day off I'm gonna make my western playoff predictions for the pool right now. By the way Scott, I think we should also add the same thing we did last year giving bonus points for predicting the Stanley cup champions and the Hart Trophy winner. I say we each pick like 3 different people for the Conn Smythe. Since the standings in the east may change I'll do those when they're set.

My western predictions for round one are as follows:

West:

(1) Detroit vs (8) Edmonton
Since the Oilers have no luck in the playoffs and they're always in 7th or 8th and Detroit had just a ridiculous record on the road especially, I'm gonna go with...

Detroit in 5.

(2) Dallas vs (7) Colorado
Theodore will make this competitive but without Svatos Colorado is nothing. Sakic will lead the Avs just as good as he lead Team Canada in the olympics... Therefore...

Dallas in 6.

(3) Calgary vs (6) Anaheim
This is the one that hurts for me. My two teams squaring off in round one. Ah well, at least that guarantees that one of them will go to round two. I say Giggy gets on fire and carries the Duckies in the best series of round 1.

Anaheim in 7.

(4) Nashville vs (5) San Jose
Damn those Sharks are on fire, and Vokoun is out. And Joe Thornton might win the Hart. And Cheechoo scored lots. And Nashville is now stuck with a rookie goalie. Sounds like the obvious and logical choice would be San Jose and that why my pick is...

Nashville in 5.

Stanley Cup pick:
Detroit Red Wings

Danny Heatley
Miikka Kiprusoff

At least the Calucks will be well rested and fully available to play in the World Championships, HAHAHA! Someone tell Scott Fleming that he owes me $10.
