Call it what you like, that main pitch at a club is used primarily by its 1st XV, i.e. the figurehead and main asset of any club. The CLUB goal i thought this season was to secure Midlands 1 rugby for next season. With this in mind surely everything possible must be done to help the 1st team achieve this goal and when considering the expansive brand of rugby which Kenilworth are famous for, and the temperemental weather we seem to experience at this time of year, a weeks rest for the surface is surely a good idea, and of little opportunity cost considering that the few who do watch the 2nds will probably wander back up to the clubhouse after the game anyway.

This is not a political debate about favouritism and classification of match standards, but a simple exercise with the objective in favour of the greater good of the club.
