You look around the church on Sunday and think about what the rest of the day will hold for some of the people. Many, including me, would be smoking again as usual. The start of sports workouts coupled with Jessica and Lisa quitting smoking has not made much of a dent in their youthful smoker friends.
Some of us adults will be smoking, but some typically have a few drinks on Sunday. It would not be surprising to have some of them end up intoxicated.
I did not drink yesterday and did not hear of any drunken scenarios. Despite the time I spent in church, I still managed to smoke slightly over a pack of Marlboros.
Unfortunately, it's easy to count when no one it working out of your pack. Jess was pretty much a Reds' girl when she gave them up. Lisa mostly smoked Marlboro Lights.
Neely, big sister of the guy Jess likes around here, invited her to a cigar night at Kelly's house. Jess has done that before. It happens at least weekly. She declined although Neely assured her smoking a cigar was not really smoking.
I was not invited and without Jess going there, I'm not going to be able to find out if Kelly's mom, Bernadine, smoked a cigar. Well, there's lunch at the country club. I should buy a round of drinks to loosen her up.
Busy day. I also have to drop by my husband's office to catch up on accounts payable.
To Cathy, I hope things work out. Do what you think is best but be sure and think it out first. The best move may be no move.
To Ted, don't let those other women lead you astray. Let me.
