The baby and mother are fine. I think we visit them too often. The visits between families is great. This sort of relates to the question Quincy asked. He suggested that Hispanic women had a tradition not to smoke but that is ending with my generation.
Mixing in the mainstream results in more smoking. I am a third generation American but I started breaking up the Hispanic purity when I married a non-Hispanic guy and had 3 boys. Then I married a guy of similar looks of my first husband who had 4 girls. So they aren't and don't look at all Hispanic. My oldest 2 sons married the gals who looked like their father's side of the family.
My youngest, Vince, married Sylvia, a beautiful young lady people think is my daughter. My daughter is now 15 and has more traits like me and does not mind keeping a Hispanic appearance.
In this blended family, race is not an issue. But my mother does not like me smoking and my younger sister thinks I'm crazy. This was or is only a tradition for women. Young men could always smoke.
Back to the present, the baby girl my son and Sylvia looks beautiful. Maybe the tradition is to not smoke cigarettes because Beatriz, the other grandma, seems to like Macanudos. She and her former husband had a better night last night at Miguel's, the quaint restaurant where Spanish is spoken first.
Beatriz' youngest daughter is 14. Her birth date is the same as my 15-year-old. They were born on the same day, a year apart.
The trophy blond with saw hit with at first is actually a gf. That opens a lot of possibilities. Apparently, they have been divorced about 3 years.
Beatriz has 3 sons who came rather quickly after Sylvia. Then she went into the working world and progressed quickly. She has a 19-year-old daughter who has just completed her first year of college and the 14-year-old in high school. The other 4 are married.
The college girl smokes Salem Lights and smokes with a professional style. This smoking is news to her mother and brothers. My daughter said the college girl was introduced to smoking by her little sister. She's been smoking since Christmas and had not been caught until a couple of nights ago. She introduced her sister in college to smoking at spring break.
The ex husband tells Beatriz not to worry about Rebecca, the college girl, but to get the younger Delores to quit smoking. That prompted a meeting at Miguel's the last 2 night.
Cathy enjoy your naughty post. All I can say is I'm 51 and not totally over the teen antics we all enjoyed.
