Usually my teen smoking daughter does not smoke until she heads off to school with her boyfriend. I have to have a cigarette as soon as I wake up.
My anti 18-year-old hates me smoking and would hate even worse if her sister smoked. My oldest has to have her coffee right away while my next daughter, the smoker, does not like coffee.
With my sister pregnant as usual, she is not smoking but her daughter, who turned 17 just a week ago, reaches for a cigarette and a cup of coffee right away. Some of her brothers and sisters are surprised that she gets a carton for her birthday and is lighting up right away.
Her mother and I have raised a few kids and are aware that she surely was smoking and is just exercising her new-found freedom.
Susan, my teen is smoking and the next and final child is a boy in kindergarten. After her now smoking 17-year-old daughter, my sister has girls 15, 13, 12 and 10 coming up behind her. She has 3 boys older than that girl. My son said he met a girl at college who seemed okay except she smoked. He did not date her but his 21-year-old male cousin asked what was wrong with the girl.
My son said nothing except she smokes. The older boy, who graduates in May and turns 22 in June, is not dating this girl. If my sister's baby does come before the end of the month, she will be the first May baby and end a string of 5 boys.
There are also no birthdays in February or August although my sister did get married on Valentine's day, 14 months before her first baby came. She was only 18 but will be 43 in June, a few days after the scheduled birth of her baby.
We are lucky enough to live an hour from a regional college they all have attended.
Speaking of Cinco de Mayo, we will be going to a dance Friday night at our church. As for softball, my oldest and 2 nieces are on a team that played well but not well enough for the playoffs. My smoking daughter is a good athlete who dropped out of high school sports because of her smoking.
