Subject: Susan's Smoky Saturday

Glad to see Amber is smoking again. BTW, don't you find these softball and baseball updates interesting? If so, I can give you a play by play of my son's games.

Please tell us about your weekend smoking. As the sun rises, I wonder which happy pants are going to rise today.
It may not be at Amy's house. She bought a pack of cigarettes during the week but that has not been known at home. Before leaving Friday, she gave the 10 or so cigarettes remaining to Val, who says she is only smoking to celebrate Cinco de Mayo.
We had a surprise shortly before leaving. Our youngest son wanted to take a girl to the game, just like his big brother. He took Lacy, the apparent ring-leader of the smoking that goes on behind us.
Our middle son took Lee Ann. Our oldest rode with some of the guys on the boys team who go with girls on the softball team.
We won the softball game with a football like score. Kim was wild with her pitching (actually she was wild afterwards, too) and Delores had to relieve her. Delores, once the main pitcher, gave up several hits and a few runs but she did not walk anyone and the defense, which was terrible in the early innings, saved our bacon later in the game.
The girls were throwing fast but the batters were hitting like it was slow pitch.
I was disappointed to see Linda, mother of the girl who goes with our oldest son, smoking. But then Amber was smoking, too. Sone-Ree, mother of Kim, was smoking but she was with her husband who seems to like her smoking more than she does.
We headed home with our boys and the girls who attended the game with them. We drop Lacy off at her parents house behind us and then take our middle son who walks Lee Ann to the door.
As we pull in the driveway, behind our house is Lacy, who had been so sweet on the trip with us, smoking a cigarette.
There was no storm but my son says there was a light display as the girls got back on the bus, quickly changed and went to cars.
He and Amber rode around a couple of hours. He said Amber lit a cigarette as they left but said she better stop this smoking. Amber was trying to be positive but said their next opponent had great pitching and the type offense they can expect to see in the playoffs.
My son's team needs to win a game today to continue in the playoffs. There's no sure thing but that seems possible.
