Subject: Depoists-director

I am a director, and I would like to ask everyone to please if your not going to send in a deposit for a pageant call and let the directors know that you will be attending at least 2 weeks in advance, it really helps all us directors if we can have at least some clue to the numbers of contestants to expect.I myself as I'm sure a number of directors have also done, I have ordered whole sets of trophies, average 400.00 - 450.00 for a full set for side awards and all, and then only have 10 or so to show up for the pageant. It really helps us to hold better pageants, and all the directors will appreceated the call or the deposit.

I wish all parents would read this post. We want to give your child the best awards, gifts, large trophies, and large crowns, but if we only have 1- contestants we buy according to what deposit we have. We cannot spend 1,000.00 on crowns, awards, and gifts and then take in 100.00 for the pageant; we can't run a business that way. If you send in a deposit then we know we are going to get enough money to pay for the Big crowns, Large trophies and name brand gifts.
We not only have to pay for the crowns, gifts, trophies but also the rent for the place to have the pageant, judges and let me tell you they don't come cheap, Judges are not going to travel a long way and not get their gas and food money back, would you. We also have to pay someone to MC and total up scores and then our gas to the pageant. Then we walk away from a pageant in the hole, we work for months before the pageant getting a place to have it, judges, MC, and auditor, we print up forms mailing them out that's 37 cents each and we mail out 100s and have 10 come, set at the CP for hours and post messages and banners tell about our pageants. Then after we work for 3-5 months before the pageant and spend a 1,000.00 to put it on and we've set up and have less than it takes to pay for the pageant.
Please we know you don't like for us to cancel a pageant but we need your deposits so we know that we are going to have enough to hold the pageant without losing our shirt.

Please we want to give you want you want, but you have to help us do it, send in a deposit. We spend according to our deposits, you want nice toys well send in a deposit so we will have the money to buy them.
