  Does anyone know a Kassandra Lease? I sold her a dress, received payment, mailed it out, then she reported that it was never received through Paypal. I had gotten delivery confirmation, but did not get signature confirmation, and paypal has sided with her and I am now $365 in the negative in my paypal and she won't admit that she received the dress. I am going to contact the Post Office Tomorrow and file with them, and with the Sheriff's dept. in my county. Has anyone else had any problems with her? My husband is livid and we will do whatever we have to to recover the money. I just can't believe someone would do this to another person, I have done things in my life I wish I hadn't but I can honestly say I've never purposely defrauded anyone for almost $400.

  From a judges point of online contests I have to say not all contests are on the up and up including the ones being mentioned on this board. I recently judged one that has been mentioned on this board. After turning in my scores I see new photos being added and I know I did not score them. That tells me something. Contest owners make sure all your photos are posted before getting them judged it just not right and I am a very fair judge. I will not say what contest it was but do hope the owner gets my drift. I would like to tell the parents to stop all the retouching. Most of the photos are not pretty anyone. They look like fake dolls with fake eyes. Some of the photos have very enlarged eyes and they look awful. I can't stand looking at some of the photos now. Get back to the basic photos people. Why even have photogenic when it is just a painted photo that isn't real. There are several great contests out there but some of the contests lately are jokes. There is one lady that owns like 4 contests and that is one you want to watch for. She adds photos after scores are turned in. Then they tell you that certain photographer photos need to win. These are some of your big paying contests. The photo contest I just judged that was announced a few nights ago had some of the worst photos I have ever judged.

  Just learned this myself...and did it twice so far, first time we wont talk about, 2nd time was great...
  roll from the front of the hair, where the comb is, straight back, and roll the sides DOWN in 3 rollers, I use the smaller ones for the sides and it looked good, then, seperate the curls by using 2 fingers and use your FINGERS not a comb..lol..to roll and place them, I bobby pin them down like l want it and then after I put it on her head I adjusted what ever needed to be adjusted. FASTER this way, my DD is 19 months...gotta be fast...loll GOOD LUCK..practice practice practice...wash and air dry....

  Did anyone on here do cover miss KY last year? We are looking at our paperwork and it seems really REALLY expensive, its adding up to over $600 for it. I might be reading it wrong but do you have to do everything to go for supreme? We've always done them where you had a choice casual or pro-am, not ever had to do both. You have to do sportswear, patriotic, hillbilly, casual, swimwear and beauty to go for supreme? that's 6 outfits. Just wanting to know if it was like this last year.

  Hello, my DD has recently started doing a few "national level" pageants, although we don't plan to get into them really hard and heavy. We just simply cannot afford them. I was wondering if some of you might would be kind enough to tell me where and how to get a good long fall and some pointers maybe on styling and how to know the right color to choose. I am also pretty good with photography, and was wondering about having one of my pics redone.
  
  Please do not bash or make fun of me. Believe me, I wish I had all the money in the world to put her in these pageants but it just isnt like that at our home. I am only trying to find a way for it to be feasibly possible.

And how do you keep your child whom that's all they have ever known to do, to NOT do it anymore?   On my list of pageant wants, here's a biggie. Move your judges around. I hate it when a director gets judges from the same state where the pageant is being held or a bordering state. If it's a national pageant, don't limit yourself to one region of the nation. Your contestants are coming from all over, so your judges should too. It's not fair to the ones outside that region if all 3-4 judges are from there. There are 50 states to choose from...use them. :o)

  We are new to pageants. My daughter has done two local pageants. The awards were okay and the directors very nice. It just seemed that the kids that always do the pageants were the winners. Is this really true? I don't want to get my daughters hopes up and then just have them crushed because she isn't a regular. What do you guys think? Thanks in advance

  • I have a pageant system and a girl who is new to pageants won Elite Supreme at my last one. I can't speak for anyone else, however.   This was a very large pageant turn out. There were 12 boys and I believe around 48 girls. It was hard to count because there were so many. I would like to thank Ms. Twila Griffith for such a wonderful pageant. This was an excellent pageant. The awards were really great and I was pleased at how many toys were collected for the Angel Tree. Tyler and Serena were very pleased with their titles and awards. Everything ran as smooth as possible, considering the room was a little small and you couldn't hardly hear over all the kids. This sometimes happens, but its ok with us. This was overall one the best pageants we have ever attended. I am very sorry that Ms. Twila is stepping back from pageants for a while due to illness. We wish you all the best with your treatment. Hope you can get back to pageants soon. You have made to big fans with Tyler and Serena.

• I personally do not have a problem with judges judging kids they have seen before or just know who they are. I do think it is in poor taste for a judge to judge a good friend's child. For example, if a judge has socialized with a contestant's parent in more than just an off chance situation, I think it is too close.
