Subject: I personally do not have a problem with judges judging kids they have seen before or just know who they are. I do think it is in poor taste for a judge to judge a good friend's child. For example, if a judge has socialized with a contestant's parent in more than just an off chance situation, I think it is too close. That is just my opinion though.
In reply to: 's message, "I've judged for many dirs many states prelims, states, & nationals and guess what I have seen contestants I know from other pgts. I feel I can judge a person I have seen or know , most of you think seeing a person before is knowing them, but I judge them as if I had never seen or heard of them before. Some of us can and do judge honestly even if we have seen u before. I have judged for many yrs it is hard not to run into someone I've seen or heard of before. It is my opinion that day and it may not be the opinion you like, but that is pageantry you will win 1 day and lose the next, be a bigger person than these bashers and sour grapes posters and go to the next pageant with the knowledge that win or lose you are a good person and a good sport by telling the winner good job and telling the loser (I don't think anyone is a loser if they try) they did good also. Cheer for every child just like you would yours and be glad for them if they are the queen or supreme as if it were your child." on 15:54:36 11/25/05 Fri
