Best argument I've seen here on the listener/customer issue, Stu. Your key word was 'successful'.

Interesting discussion, as ever. For the 50+ perusal, Katsoris says we're different and I agree because we were raised on rebellious rock and roll racket and our folks weren't. Scheckner continues to provide evidence of response, and wants more. Terry offers the sobering 2006 bottom line. McGeeney is an activist asking poignant questions. DeRosa reminds us that Oldies 101.1 in its last days was a shell that shouldn't be resuscitated as a shell. Berman reminds us that Infinity FMs are in the S-trap under the toilet.
I kinda go with McGeeney's 'industry doubletalk', though. Statistically it must be swell to own a station that boasts of being #5 -- deliriously close to the top -- in ***NEW YORK CITY*** among males 25-49, or similar claims, but how such stature translates to revenue is another story.
And I go with Weiner. Gimme the faithfulness and casual flow of a big and well-served customer base -- any ages. Good faith is the better way to receive back the benefit of any doubt if things get rocky. A company deservedly gets more credibility the more it stays consistently faithful. Nine straight trends of ratings squalor on 101.1 is faithful to no one regardless of how it's spun.
