Wow! What great memories you guys brought back. I too had a fm converter installed in my car. In fact, it wasn't until 1978 that I had a car with a real fm radio. I remember all those djs mentioned. My favorite was Steve Clark. He later wound up on WPIX and 97DJ. If you go to reelradio.com they have a tape of him doing the last show on 97DJ before its demise. I remember the OR-FM newsman Dave Spencer. If you go to the link section on this website and go to New York Radio Memories section there is a tribute to 99X and in that they have an OR-FM section with a 1969 tape of Tony Taylor.
I seem to remember Joe McCoy and Walt Baby Love being on WNBC around the time of Brucie and Wolfman Jack. And later Dan Taylor was doing the "Time Machine" there, an oldie show overlooked now. And who remembers Gus Gossert? I think he was on WPIX, but I'm not sure.
Those were great times, and I appreciate you guys sharing your memories. And if there are more of you out there, join in!
