The changes to Cbs-fm near the end when they started messing with the music came from the people upstairs. the executives who think they know what people want. McCoy kept the 50's as long as possible. cbs-fm in the late 1990's and early 2000's played more 50's than any other major market oldies station. some of his moves weren't the greatest but he was not the reason for the musical shift. and if you remember when he was still pd on the specialty weekends such as Summer songs weekend or #1 weekend the still played 50's. when dave logan took over all of that was gone on the specialty weeknends.

actaully many people dis-agree with McCoy because he didn't phase out 50's soon enough and bring in more 70's earlier. Near the end he wasn't even really programming the station in was the higher ups who were and eventually they just let him go.

I am not trying to stick-up for McCoy- he mad some bad moves along the way (like letting one of my real favorite jocks max kinkle go, DT for morings etc.) or anything but to blame the downfall of cbs-fm and musical shifts solely on him is not correct
