I enjoyed listening to the airchecks on Dale R. Patersons' site. A couple of things struck me: 1) the teletype background noise during the news segment 2) How "new" the "old" songs being played in '72 and '75 were, relatively speaking, when compared to what we consider to be 'oldies' 3) There were no references to "oldies" - rather "Golden 101" and the slogan "Where the good songs have gone". I had listened to WCBS since day one and it was nice to go back to the early days for a few moments.
