Subject: Age Discrimination at Rolling Stones Superbowl Concert

I just read an article about the Rolling Stones concert at the Super Bowl (a clip from the BBC article is below). It seems that people over 45 were BANNED from participating in the in-field activities. Apparently, the young promoters thought that it was TOO STRENUOUS for anyone over 45 to go out to the middle of the field and back. Unbelieveable.

THIS is the reason for the demise of Oldies Music and ANYTHING aimed at older audiences...blatant age discrimination. The media has created a false stereotype and perception that anyone over 45 is done with life and should be in a nursing home or grave.

For the full article, see: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/4590578.stm

CLIP FROM THE ARTICLE

A ban on older fans seeing the Rolling Stones perform at the Super Bowl has been lifted, organisers say.
People over 45 were initially not invited to take to the field and dance during the concert, as the task was considered too physically demanding.......

.......The 2,000 audience members for the event in Detroit on 5 February will be required to enter and exit the field of play quickly. There will be no seating and participants will be on their feet for long periods of time.
