Hi everyone. Moving on to the next adventure!!!!!!
Barb Henricks has reserved us a Coach-type bus. We have 12 people signed up so far (44 spots left) and need to know by 7/7 if we have enough people to keep it reasonably priced.

The message/details are below.

Reserve your spot by adding as many spots as you need on the volunteer spot calendar.
Here's the Link:
http://www.volunteerspot.com/login/entry/48-62925598858

If for whatever reason you can't access it - just send me an email with how many spots and I can add you.

Thank you and "THANKS" again to everyone for making yesterday so much fun!!!
Annie

Sign Up to Ride!!
Dear Murray Families The McInerney Feis is being held on August 8, 2008 at the fully air conditioned DCU arena in Worcester, MA.
We are planning on chartering a fully air conditioned coach to this feis. The coach seats 56 people and would cost approximately 20.00 per rider. This will be a fun and exciting way to build school spirit by cheering on Murray dancers at every level; getting to know other families around Murray; and to relax and enjoy an entire feis.

The charter is scheduled to leave the Stratham Plaza at 6AM and return after our last dancer has danced. We plan to make a stop for food on the way home.
If you are interested in what proves to be a great day, please sign up to reserve your seat(s). Seats will be reserved on a first-come first-serve basis.
Please make checks out to Cara Rince.

Note: The FEIS entry deadline is July 13, 2009. You must complete this (it's separate from the bus sign up). The syllabus can be picked up at the studio or downloaded from the CR Website http://www.orgsites.com/nh/cararince

I found a small pair of ghillies in the studio at the end of the day, today. Because Miss Anne and I figured the owner (who most likely had a class today) might need them for Murray Fest, I chose to bring them them with me rather than put them in the lost and found box. I will be at the Middle School before everthing gets rolling tomorrow, and will be working backstage all day...if you think these dance shoes might be yours, please look for me there. Thanks, Carol

Just an FYI

Tickets will be available for purchase tomorrow at the Rehearsal.
Sandy and I will be right up front.

We'll be returning pre-ordered tickets and raffle tickets if you haven't already picked them up at the studio from the organizer. I'm going to retrieve them around 5 today - so don't panic if you see they're gone. We'll find you - no worries!!

We'll also have some samples of the Raffle Baskets (they're very nice!!) and maybe a sneak peek at the video since we'll all be so busy on Sunday!!

Any questions - feel free to email or ask when you see me. I'm the one running around in circles :)

Date Posted: 13:13:15 06/23/09 Tue

Hi Everyone

Thanks to all the people who've signed up to volunteer so far!! We couldn't do this without you!!

*We'll be sure you get a Volunteer ticket and if you've already paid - we'll figure it out.

We still need some help with the Children's Activities. Some of the older dancers either before or after you dance. - that would be very helpful!!

Kids will be attended by their parents (It's not babysitting - so no worries there!!)
Also - everything will be spelled out for each station.

Each child will receive an Activity Passport at the door.

There are 4 Activities on their passport - at each station the attendant will punch the card so we know if they've already completed an activitity. There's no charge for the activities, so you don't have to worry about money either - just having fun.

The Stations Are:

1. "Celtic Croks (I ran out of "Cs" for the sign) Ring Toss" - Just a simple game - with 3 inflatable Crocodiles named Rally, Ceili, and Ghillie - each child gets a few turns to get a ring around their noses - but don't fall into the swamp!!!

2a. "Shamrockin' Craft" - Easy Breezy - each child (with their parent's help can make a craft - there are a few choices.

2b. "Celtic Coloring" - Each child can choose 1 design to color - either a Celtic Knot design or a Ghillie Girl. (If you haven't seen the Ghillie Girls - they are adorable!! One is based on our own Champion, Kim Carney!~!

3. Temporary Tattoos (Can only put on after their show/picture!!) - simple as 1,2,3!!

4. "Where's Your Irish?" - A fair question since we're all claiming some roots!! This is an opportunity to introduce kids to a little bit of their heritage. There's a map/log where they can try to locate where their ancestors are from (if they know) and also some Word Search puzzles and a tip sheet and family tree page to get them delving into some genealogy and unlocking some family treasures!!

We also have a "Figure the Feet" contest - where people can try to match the feet to the dancers. It's a matching game. Of all the correct entries, the winner will get a pair of tye-died poodle socks!!

So please lend a hand. We'd really appreciate it!!

Just sign up on Volunteer Spot - just click on the link!!

[Edit]

Date Posted: 15:31:26 06/16/09 Tue

Hello Everyone

About a week and a half to go!!!!

Just some reminders and updates for you:

1. Ticket envelopes are due back June 17th (tomorrow)

Look on the studio door (shoe rack) for your returned tickets to pick up - they are alphabetical (or at least started that way!!))

**If you didn't pre-order tickets, you can get them at the door on the day of the event.

2. Raffle Basket Donation Envelopes:

If you haven't picked your dancer's up yet - you'll find it in the shoe rack on the studio door. For every $3 you donate - you'll receive 5 tickets - we'll continue to accept donations through the 24th.

**Your returned raffle tickets for your donation are also in the shoe rack in the tan envelopes with your dancer's name. BE SURE TO PUT YOUR NAME AND PHONE ON THE BACK OF EACH RAFFLE TICKET - before you put them in the raffle entry containers!!!

3. Schedule and Volunteers

Very shortly the schedule will be posted and also a link to volunteer the day of the festival.

4. Rehearsal

The Rehearsal will be on the 24th of June at CMS from 4-7pm.
They do not need to be in dresses or wigs.

**Also - please don't stress if Murray Fest will be the first time wearing a school dress or wig. There are plenty of people who can assist with adjustments. No worries!!

Everything is coming together - we'll have fabulous raffle prizes and the drawing for the ipod touch, Stars for Steppers (you can send messages backstage for the dancers), the kids will all get an Activity Passport - 4 different activities to complete during the day including a Shamrockin' Craft, and the Celtic Croc Ring Toss. We also have a "Figure the Feet" contest, the professional photographer will be there and we'll also be serving burgers and hot dogs so you don't have to worry about dinner!! It will be a fun day for sure!!! Thanks to all those who gave pictures (I'm all set now with over 1000 - it's turning into a Cecil B. DeMille production) and for the Starbursts too.

More soon.....Thanks everyone!!!
Annie

Hope all the dancers are busy working on their Dress/Vest design!!

Please be sure we have your entry No Later than 2pm on the day of the festival. Judging will take place later in the day - but we need to have them all displayed.

We realized that some people may not be arriving until later to dance depending on the schedule - so we'll also be accepting entries at the Rehearsal on the 24th at the Cooperative Middle School and by arrangement if you are not going to the festival, but would still like to enter.

Please be sure to write the Dancer's name on the back.
We are adding a few more age categories.
SO........please put their feis age on the back as well (Age as of 1/1/09).

We're also adding a fun contest called "Figure the Feet" - it's a matching game where people have to guess which feet belong to which dancer (it will be multiple choice - so everyone will stand a chance!!)

Thank you!!
Annie

Date Posted: 06:08:06 06/09/09 Tue

Hello everyone

To help raise money for our dancers, we are happy to be offering 6 different Raffle Baskets this year at "Murray Fest". In order to put these together, we're asking for cash donations. We've already got people lined up to shop and assemble!!

At the studio - you will see a poster that explains the prizes and also a display that holds the envelopes. Just grab your dancer's envelope. The suggested donation is $3 and for every $3 you donate, you'll receive 5 tickets that you can use for the raffle on the day of the festival.

**Please return envelopes before the festival to the Cara Rince locker. Any checks would be made payable to "Cara Rince"

**If you won't be there - just tell me which prizes you'd like to try for and I'll put them in for you.

**You need not be present to win.

**The drawings will take place just prior to the last show.

Each class will be represented by a basket valued at $75-$100. It's an opportunity to explain what each level means to the general population. So there will be a sign for each ie...

Presented By: The Novices (A novice is.......)

You can find the descriptions of the baskets at the studio and also on the Murray Fest Website at

www.orgsites.com/nh/murrayfest

Please use this website to direct your friends and family to information.

You can also print out Design Contest entry forms from there as well.

Thank you!!!

Hello All!!

Seeking donations of of Starburst Candies (Original Flavors) for "STARS FOR STEPPERS". These will be available at Murray Fest - they are small bags of Starbursts tied up with ribbon and they have a tag attached for people to send messages to dancers.

In theater they call them "Cast Kisses" with chocolate - but that's out with the dresses and the heat!!!". It's a lot of fun and a fundraiser. We'll deliver them backstage throughout the day.

They seem to be least expensive at Walmart and also come in an economy size. I think that 15 regular bags - or the equivalent should do it!!

I'll label a locker tomorrow that they can be left in - please label with my name so they aren't mistaken for a snack!!

I'll be posting Murray Fest Info. later today

Thank you very much!!

Murray Fest is only 4 weeks away!!

Here's what you need to know!!

June 28th at the Cooperative Middle School (CMS) in Stratham
1pm - 5pm - Doors will open at 12:30pm.

There will be several shows throughout the day, live music by Celtic Tribe, food, raffles - fun!!

DRESS REHEARSAL: Wed. June 24th at CMS - 4-7pm - schedule will follow. This will help get the kids used to the stage and it's always fun to watch!!

* Ticket order envelopes will go up Monday night (6/1).

....there will also be a form to add a personal message to your dancer(s) in the Festival Program.

* There are 2 websites for info.

www.orgsites.com/nh/cararince (specific to Murray Families) - the Murray Fest page link is on the right.

www.orgsites.com/nh/murrayfest (for anyone - families/general public etc)

*Design Contest

I know that there is a raffle going on for an iPod touch to help support the dancers going to Nationals to represent MIDA. I'm not sure if everyone knows how awesome the iTouch actually is. I happen to own a 16GB and I can't live without it!!! It's the most amazing piece of technology.

In addition to holding an entire library of music, I can access the internet and email anywhere there is WiFi. When on the internet you can stretch and shrink the pages with your fingers - it's like magic!! It holds all my pictures and the screen must be Hi-Def - it's amazing quality!! I download TV shows/movies from iTunes and watch them while I'm waiting around (don't we all do a lot of waiting!!).

The coolest thing now is the Applications you can download. You've probably seen the commercials "There's an App for that". The games are my favorite - but I can also track packages, have an instant link to my Facebook and Twitter pages, get the most up-to-date movie info - all at the touch of an icon. You can even turn it into a "level" to help hang a picture. I am constantly amazed at what they come up with!!

It's extremely easy to use. It's the "Swiss Army Knife" of electronics. I would love to have the iPhone - but I'm tied into Verizon - so for now, I am very happy to have the iTouch - everyone should have one!!!

From the sign at the studio - I think you contact Miss Anne to get a ticket for the raffle.

What a great Father's Day gift it would make. My Dad takes his to the mall - it keeps him entertained while my mother goes shopping.

I don't work for Apple and don't have a dancer going to Nationals - I just absolutely LOVE this product!!!

Enjoy the Beautiful weekend!!

Annie Harris (Aubrey's Mom)

FYI: Sounds like a fun time! Pat King, Maureen Greene-O'Leary and Michael Fitzpatrick will be there.

Dear Anne,
Hi, I'm John Sulllivan, Chair of Feis Nova Scotia . I was hoping that you could let all your Irish Dance students know that Feis Nova Scotia (www.feisnovascotia.com) is open for registration at eFeis (www.efeis.com). Halifax is a mere 10 hours from New Hampshire and we run a small Feis (<200 dancers) and it's a lot of fun. We travel to New England regularly (doing Greene O'Leary & Hartford Feis in a few weeks) and it's not that far to travel to compete. The whole Stanford school from Fredericton is coming (5 hours away). We'd love to see some Murray Dance Academy at Feis Nova Scotia this year. July 18 is the first weekend of the Tall Ships Festival and we have an air-conditioned facility this year.
Feel free to ask me any questions, we'll help your logistics any way we can. Another bonus is that Anne Murray is already very famous here in Nova Scotia!
Cheers,
John Sullivan

Ann Marie (Larkin) Ford
1964-2008

Hey-I know it's late notice, but we were hoping to raise a little money for Ed Irwins cause. Read below and follow your heart. We will have a locker set-up for cash donations (and or) if you would like to buy a dress raffle ticket, we could purchase it for you while we are at the Cape this weekend.

March 17, 2009
Dear Dancers, Parents, Fellow Teachers /Adjudicators and
Friends of Irish Dancing:

Moments after Mothers day ended this past May, we
lost one of the best friends you could ever have:
ANN MARIE (LARKIN) FORD
She was a devoted mother of Brendan and Ashley;
beloved wife to Bobby; loving
daughter and sister; and friend to thousands
who had the privilege of meeting (in her
own words) “the prettiest girl in Dorchester”.
Ann Marie was probably born dancing.
Her joy in performing and meeting new friends all
over the world has been passed on
to her daughter, Ashley, a dancer with the Smith-Houlihan Academy.
To honor Ann Marie and to thank her for the kindness and
support she gave to so many people during her short life, her
family and friends are planning a special event
to support Ann’s children's continuing education.

*We are having a Dress of Your Dreams raffle ($10 per ticket). Simply
pick your de- sired designer and the committee will send
you the value of your dress, up to the amount of $2,600 U.S.

THANKS FOR YOUR TIME EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!

I had left my daughter's soft shoes in the bin to sell and about a month ago someone called and said they wanted to buy them and they would leave me a check at the studio. I totally forgot about it until the other day- and I haven't see a check at the studio. I bet whoever it was forgot just like me (I am sorry I don't remember your name). Anyway, if you could please leave the check at the studio, when you get a chance ($15.00) it would be appreciated! Thank you! Any questions my number is 603-944-2149.

Olivia's Murray warm up jacket was taken from the studio today (Monday 4/20). She attends the 5:00 class. I think someone from the earlier class may have picked it up accidently. The initials O.F. are on the inside tag. She also had two medals from the Feis yesterday in the pocket. Could you please check you jackets and let me know if you have it. Thank you. Melanie Faulkner
