Hello,

We will be hosting our spring concert, pot luck supper and ceili on April 18 at the Dover Elks, 282 Durham Road, Route 108, Dover and are extremely pleased to have both Eamon Coyne and Dave Surette as our featured performers. They will be leading a musicians workshop from 3-4:30PM for fiddle and accompaniment. The pot luck supper will begin at 6PM followed by a concert at 7PM and ending with the ceili. see attached flyers.

I am so proud of Molly and Cara...they represented all of us so well for their/our first Worlds, in our school's fourth year. Also, just heard that Byron's senior girls choreography just won first place out of 24 entered teams!!! Glad to have Byron and Edward on our team...get ready for Monday girls! Can't wait for the workshop.

Hi Everyone,

Molly didn't recall - but both she and Anne were VERY happy with how she danced. BIG excitement in her comp as Michael Flatley - yes, THE Michale Flatley showed up to watch the soft shoe comp. It has been a fun day - I am so proud of her and so very thankful to you all for the good wishes. Cara competes at 1:30 tomorrow so keep the good thoughts coming...oh and for those of you who know him, John Grimes is dancing at 10am so good thoughts for him too please : ) Now off to feed a very hungry dancer....

Some people have asked about the class schedule since I will be away at the Worlds. The Friday Pre-Beginner class and champ classes have been moved to the week of 4/20-25 (what WAS going to be a vacation week, but is no longer!). All other classes will be held as usual. Thanks!

There were a few items left behind Sunday at the practice feis, including a Sony cybershot camera, a black case that may go with the camera or was for something else, and a blue water bottle (it was filled with water and lemons if that helps...) If any of these belong to you I have them and will bring them to the studio.

The Advanced Beginner sign-up sheet has been posted at the studio for the April 13 workshop with Edward Searles, TCRG of The Academy, Birmingham, England . Advanced Beginner workshop coincides with the Monday AB class time for convenience. However, even if you already attend the Monday class you will need to sign up for the workshop as it is limited to 22 AB dancers. There will be a fee for this workshop. Please note: Classes WILL be held the week of April Vacation (April 20-24). Check the school calendar for updates @ www.murrayirishstep.com.

I bought a gently used large size Murray dress for Mia to wear to a feis early last April. It is aproximately a girls' 14, but really must be tried on. The headband, cape are included. It can be worn by beginner, Adv. Beginner, and Novice. Mia wore it to a novice level competition in a feis last April and the dress looked nice in the line-up of dancers. She took a break after the feis and has not come back. I would like to sell all of her Irish Dance clothing and gear. The hard shoes are still quite new and in very nice condition, Fayes 3 1/2. I made a cute feis bucket with a shamrock fabric that is in great shape. We have Murray blue warm-up pants that were never worn, a Murray warm-up jacket for a Mom that was never embroidered with my name and I never wore, some Murray t-shirts in approximately a girls' 14 that are gently worn, a cute "Irish Dancer" shirt we bought at the last feis but Mia never wore, and a silver Irish Dance necklace. Some of these items are in nice enough condition to give as a gift, while some of the items will be very functional and look nice while saving you money. We also have poodle socks, sock glue, black gorilla duct tape, competition number sleeve with ribbon that matches the dress, Irish dance music CDs, and more. Bring your used dresses that you want to sell to the school feis on April 5th. There will be a rack to put them on. Put amount desired and contact information on a piece of paper attached to the dress. A great opportunity to find a dress for a new dancer.

Great job to all the team dancers who participated in the numerous St. Patrick's Day dance-out's in the community...you did a fantastic job, as did the parents who helped with coordination, emcee'ing, floor tiles, etc. And thanks to the parents for getting the dancers where they needed to be when they needed to be there!! I thought the quality of dancing and music was much improved from the past--wonderful job to all!

My daughter Julia grabbed a wrong soft shoe sometime during her Monday class on the 16th of March between 5 and 6:30pm. This feis does not usually have an entry form on line so I made 100 copies. Look on the table in the waiting room. It is a Rita O'Shea feis and they are great for beginners. I couldn't stuff all 100 in the plastic organizer so some are in the locker above the the Cara Rince locker.

All Murray Families are invited to join us Friday March 20th, 6:00 St. Charles Church Hall, Dover NH. Tickets are $6 per person or $20 for a family. Dancers please bring your shoes! Dinner will be Pasta and Garlic Bread. Please bring a salad or dessert. We will be selling tickets in the studio next week. You can drop an envelope with cash in the Cara Rince Locker (mark it pasta party) and we will have the tickets at the door. Email me with any questions. I am selling Ceara's team/novice dress. She was apprx 5'1" when she wore it. It has been worn exactly twice. It does not currently have a cape but Kathleen or Anne will get one for the buyer. (included in original dress purchase) I am asking $525. I decided to sell it now because The dressmaker will be in the studio Tuesday to measure for new desses. I will be there at 6:15 Tuesday with Ceara and the dress for anyone to try on the dress.

I had a pair of Aubrey's old hard shoes in the for sale bin. They were labeled multiple ways - including a neon orange sign, circular tags attached to each shoe and a pre-addressed envelope to send the payment. They also had her name inside the shoes.

They have been missing from the bin now for months, but I have not received anything. I thought maybe someone was trying them out or was just waiting to send payment. I know December was very hectic for everyone.

I had suggested a dance out for Maple Suites on Dec 31. I did not speak to the activities director but I thought some show of appreciation asap would be nice. I'm sorry to have to do this, but I am cancelling classes tonight, as the studio still does not have heat or water/toilet facilities. Yesterday it worked to have classes because it was so warm out, but I was just at the studio and it's below 50 and FREEZING! so even with body heat, I don't think we'll be able to manage. Hi there - We have 5 extra tickets to the Polar Express in Lincoln tomorrow (Friday December 19th 4:30). It is the premier seating and they are $60 a piece. Once again RAeline saved the day for us. She lives on my street so I know she didin't have power. Friday morning studio was freezing and we wre trying to find an alternate venue. I called Raeline to ask about Red Hook. I was also having cell phne problems. In the middle of a flooded basement she found us a place to dance! She loaded up my car with snacks becasue she knew we might have trouble finding lunch for the dancers. then she came by and Sat down with Anne's files to call EVERYONE who registered to tell them about schedule changes. some people could not be reached and I'm very sorry for the inconvenience. Raeline is our own personal ANGEL. Our street just got power back at midnight Satruday so that is why my thank you is so late. And Ihave to say that my husband Erik passed a grocery store with power so he bought a bunch of deli meat, chips and rolls to feed everyone :) So thank you to everyone who helped the two days of workshop. Good luck to all of you as you recover from the storm.

hi all--

is the workshop with byron still going on? we've had to evacuate after the ice storm down to my mom's in mass. a massive tree dropped almost all of its branches all around our house, taking out fences and powerlines, so our house is currently uninhabitable. just wondering if i should make the trek to bring harlan up tomorrow. thanks!
