Subject: Somewhere in the books, there is reference to Ash not trusting Artemis not to betray him again. What if Apollo caught them together originally and Artemis didn't intercede when Apollo killed Ash? That could have made Ash cry out for vengeance and be why Artemis made him a DH -- which also brought him back to her and, since she's his food source, dependent on her. (What served as his nourishment for the 2000 years that he stayed away from her, I wonder? )
In reply to: Leiha 's message, "Does anyone have any theories or ideas on WHY Ash was hated as soon as he was born?" on 14:30:18 11/12/05 Sat

Again, going off of memory and I apologize for not posting specific pages. But it is 4:00 a.m. and the damned turkey STILL ain't done! (Sorry)

However, here goes. Artemis IMMEDIATELY regretted her involvement in the death of Ash. So she risked the wrath of the FATES to bring him back from the dead. Thus, the creation of Ash as a Dark Hunter. If you will recall in Alexion's Story, at the time, Ash knew of no other way of making a person a Dark Hunter than by transference of his blood. JUST as Artemis did to him! Which is why Ash must feed from Artemis (his source of life) and Alexion from Ash (his source of life).

Artemis, insane but not stupid, realized too late that you cannot make someone love you, even if you tried to right a wrong. But she was her typical self, thinking only of herself, created another and another Dark Hunter and then left them to fin for themselves. Ash being Ash, "allowed" Artemis to manipulate him into returning to her(to feed & for sex)in order to barter for the souls of the Dark Hunter. Since, this worked for her Artemis continues to use the DH as leverage over Ash.

Were Ash his mother's child, he would surely refuse to return to Artemis; starve and allow insanity to set in, thus ending the world and fulfilling the prophecy of his being a God(dess) killer.

Again, just my humble opinions...I'm sticking to it until SK saya otherwise *VBG*

[> [> [> [> I have to agree. I was thinking about this after with Alexion's story as well. It seems like the same thing happened with Alexion and Ash that happened with Artemis and Ash. Ash did say that at the time it was the only method that he knew of that worked. -- ~Sarah R.~, 21:56:20 11/24/05 Thu [1]

[> [> Somewhere on Sherri's site is an answer to that question. Artemis handmaidens brought him blood whilst he was refusing to see Artemis. Don't ask me where it is on the site though, but I know I read it somewhere. -- Chez, 23:35:29 11/29/05 Tue [1]

[> [> [> Chez, not doubting or arguing with you on the blood thing. But could you possible find out where it is written? Reason being I went back to archeron's Story http://www.kinleymacgregor.com/hunter/acheronstory.htm and it does not make mention of Handmaiden's although I guess it could be implied. But I also remember reading that the Handmaiden's ran in fear and hid when Ash visited Artemis. Which would make the delivery of blood to Katoteros somewhat suspect. Especially, since Artemis went to such lengths to keep Ash's visits to Mt. Olympus such a secret. -- MsE, 06:27:53 11/30/05 Wed [1]

[> [> [> [> I went back and had a look through the site and can't find it either. I have sent an IM to Lo to find out where the heck I read it and will let you know when she replies. It may even have been in a chat a while ago when we used to get chat notes sent out, but I seriously can't remember. I do know that it was asked and that was the answer, but will keep looking. -- Chez, 00:58:02 12/01/05 Thu [1]
