Subject: I think we have to isolate who hated him? I *think* it's because he wasn't really the child of the woman who bore him, but Apollymi's missing son. Perhaps if he is Apollymi's son and therefore an Appolite/Atlantean or an Appolite/Atlantean/Charonte (Nope, not giving up that theory. LOL), then he was hated simply for his heritage. However, someone knew he would be hated, I think, and that's why they bound his life force and Styxx's together. Hey, wait, if their life forces were bound so Styxx couldn't be killed, then how come Ash could be killed? Hmm. See? MORE questions.
In reply to: Leiha 's message, "Does anyone have any theories or ideas on WHY Ash was hated as soon as he was born?" on 14:30:18 11/12/05 Sat

[> [> Ok,check out pg 378 of Night Embrace, then 397-404. 378 refers to the sometimes visible handprint scar on Ash's throat, the other pages talk about why he was hated at birth by his "parents".Part of it was his weird silver eyes, but most of it ,IMHO,was that a wisewoman attended his birth &proclaimed he'd be a destroyer, the gods themselves won't be safe from his wrath.I have better stuff about this on the other 'puter that MsE told me,I'll look for it tomorrow if i remember. It follows your idea, though,MS,about it being known he would be hated, that being the reason for the bonding between him and Styxx.I had a thought just barely-Apollo has told Ash,'I killed you once,I can do it again',right? But Styxx is the one who has put his hand EXACTLY where the "ghost" handprint shows up.What if Apollo somehow forced Styxx to kill Ash,or choke him/hold him down by the throat, whatever they were doing to him...I am thinking Apollo must be more powerful than Styxx. So he could "command" him, maybe? -- Boadicea, 21:40:12 11/12/05 Sat [1]

[> [> [> [> Styxx did die and was sent to a type of heaven, remember he was given a place in Elysian Fields (I know I didn't spell that correctly) where he had his heart's desires. Except he allowed his hatred of Ash to cloud his judgement and he banded with and schemed with Apollo, Bacchus and Dionysis (name & spelling please forgive) to kill Ash and take over the world. Except they did not have all of the facts about Ash and his abilities. If you also recall, Styxx was then sent to his rightful death or place in Hell where he was made to see the error of his ways in his treatment of Ash. -- MsE, 20:13:55 11/28/05 Mon [1]
