Subject: Ash's history

Some of the other comments have perked up my memory of other things. In Talon/Sunshine's book, doesn't Styxx say something about Ash's hunters and friends hating him if they truly knew what he was? That's also the book where someone, Dionysius I think, says, "Who knew Artemis's pet was a god-killer." Somewhere in one of the books, I think there is also a reference to Ash being drunk or somehow incapacitated on some substance -- like he was addicted -- and that made him unable to save his sister from death. (Or something like that.) I think he might also have been addicted to that aphrodesiac substance that they used on Sunshine.
Notice how we just come up with more and more questions? LOLOL

[> I wondered if he was addicted or if it was just made to sound that way. I'm optimistic and tend to think that he was drugged. Your right though- these questions just beget more questions. -- ~Sarah R.~, 19:23:21 11/11/05 Fri [1]

[> [> I know what you mean about the questions, too! I keep thinking,MS,about Ash being part Charonte or something, and Sarah, about you mentioning that maybe Ash's heroine would have to be a god, since Artie is (the whole feeding thing) I LOVE this-it's like a dream, the never ending book discussion,LOL ! -- Boadicea, 20:50:59 11/11/05 Fri [1]

[> Lots of interesting stuff happens between pages 245-264 in Night Embrace. The drug,"Eycharistisi" is mentioned on pg 263 I believe. Apollo has called Ash "Tsoulus" before-it is the rough equivalent of "man-whore" in ancient greek,supposedly.252-254 in Dance with the Devil is where this happens . I have a wild, crazy theory about Ash's death, and how/why it happened, what he was in his "former" life, etc.,but you have to have read the two "Ash/Ryssa" excerpts to consider it-(the ones I sent you last night,SarahR) I will be happy to share these or other notes w/anyone here, take out the **'s from this>lara*odin*thor@yahoo.com . -- Boadicea, 20:46:36 11/11/05 Fri [1]

[> After reading Bo's notes, I'm wondering how Ash went from practically being a prisoner at his "uncles" to a drug addicted male whore. -- Leiha, 15:11:36 11/12/05 Sat [1]

[> [> Ooh,Leiha, that's a good point. I know it says somewhere that he took a kind of defiant, perverse pride in being called "whore",but I wonder, now that you mention it,was he forced into it or went willingly as a means of escape, since it appears that no one but Ryssa cared for him,and even those times seem few and far between.here's something twisted-maybe "Uncle" thought he could make money off him or something, especially since Ash is such a looker. This kind of makes sense to me,if I continue with my "Uncle Estes is a sodomite" theory.I really, really don't want to be right about that....*G* -- Boadicea, 21:49:15 11/12/05 Sat [1]

[> [> [> Yeah, I so hope that you are wrong about that but it would explain why he hates having someone at his back and this is Sherri, she's had her DH's go through hell so I don't see her shying away from this. -- Leiha, 23:26:09 11/12/05 Sat [1]

[> [> [> [> Don't forget that his surname Parthenopaneous (spelling who knows how as haven't got the book with me) means something like virgin deflowerer. Then there was that excerpt with him locked in a cell for who knows how long -- Chez, 23:37:15 11/13/05 Sun [1]

[> [> [> [> [> Do you know where this is? I must have missed where his name was described. I was thinking that he was from around Parthenope which is present day Naples, and that his parents might have been the king and queen around that region. I know SK is changing a bit of the mythology to suite the stories, and often there is more than one version of the myths. Parthenope could be totally unrelated. There is a cool atlanteas legend regarding it though. -- ~Sarhh R.~, 13:18:21 11/14/05 Mon [1]

[> Has anyone given any thought when Ash was a shade and HOW he got out of it??? He knows the horrors personally, ..Did Artie get him out? And is THAT why he needs HER blood? Yes, I'm back from Santa's Land.. -- Michele N, 09:55:57 11/13/05 Sun [1]

[> [> Welcome back and thanks for delivering my message to Santa. I forgot to include Single in the tall,dark/blonde, and handsome request. I hope Santa isn't like Artie and I get one that's married.LOL it would be my luck. Regarding Ash being a shade: I think that Artemis must have let him feed from her to get himself out of Shadedom. That's the only way I can piece it together. -- ~Sarah R.~, 19:24:56 11/13/05 Sun [1]

[> [> Night Embrace is the first reference to Ash having been a shade. It's on page160. I recall a few other references, but don't have them at hand. -- ~Sarah R.~, 19:16:59 11/13/05 Sun [1]
