Subject: A New Road?

Firstly, has anyone seen Ians motorcycle boots, last heard of at Traws a few weeks ago? Any sightings gratefully received.
Secondly, and of perhaps greater importance, is a possible new road Ian and I have found, at Lofthouse, above Pateley Bridge, which is just above Harrogate. It runs about two miles up to Scar House Reservoir, is smooth, has one nice big corner, and several interesting ess bends. It appears to be a public accessible road, owned by Yorkshire Water, but has two problems for us. The first is a cattle grid, which is on the fastest part of the course (bridgeable, I'm sure), but the second problem is it may just not be steep enough! I ran down it on my motorcycle, which may not be very free running, and reached 40mph at the fastest part, but by the end, after two miles, I was down to 20mph.
As soon as we can, Ian and I will run a Gravity Bike down the course, to see how things really perform.
In the meantime, would someone else like to survey the proposed road, and report back?
Everyone else, do keep looking.
Cheers.
Derek and Ian Round
