If you look at my post you will see that you don't have to buy anything to sell sponsorship to the event except printed Proposal.

A bronze package you could sell unlimited packges. Chris said it was about 16000 to make the race happen(please correct me if I am wrong on this amount.) that is only fourty Bronze packs. for most companies $500.00 is nothing to supports a winner. Print and Coffee shops will put the photo on their wall and the trophie on display to show every one they support the community.

You don't buy the photo's or trophies till after the event. So unless it happens you are not out of of pocket.

Don't get me wrong you will have to use some creative salesmanship. But if you are creative you can sell this event in small blocks. There seem to be a lot of you involved on this board. If Eight of you sell Five Bronze level packages you will have the 16000.

Get out your phone book. Look up all the printers. Call them and tell them it relates to printing because speed is importaint for us and them (this can be used for Cell Phones Computers anything you can say fast service is importaint.

Tell them they will get the photo of the winner with an autograph thanking them for Support.

Tell them they will be able to put in there adds "Company Name" is the Proud Sponsor of the Highlands World Extreme Games.

Tell them they can put this in adds and on promo matterials that promote there company. let them know that every sponsoring events gives the impression that a company is seeing great success.

Tell them they will get an official certificate to authenticate their official sponsorhip of the Downhill Speed event.

Let them know they will get there own trophy they can display showing that they Sponsored the World Cup Podium winners.

Let them know they get all this for the amazing low price of $500.00

Put the pressure on by saying that there is a limited number of sponsor slots and that you were only given authorization to give out five of them.

Tell them you only have two left and you are giving it to them because you can see that they are a company on the right track who would reflect well on our event.

They will probably ask you to send them printed info with more details have somthing nice printed ahead of time. detailing the event and demographics including viewer numbers from previous televised events.

Show some photo's of banners at the event or something that shows sponsors are there.

each person should call at least 40 companies and I bet everyone will sell at least five Bronze Packages.

Start Up Costs.

Printing for Package you will send to potential sponsors. Probably around $400.00 for something simple and clean about two pages or so with matching envelopes.

I know this can be done. It's how people put on a lot of events.

If you guys put the promo pack together I promise to get leads and work to meet my five package quota over here in America to support your event. I have a lot of confidence that I could sell at least Five. I think the commision is a very motivating factor. I would recomend planning the event as far in the year as possible to give time to collect all the money. All checks should be made to the BGSA and commisions are paid by the BGSA.
