A couple of us took up luge a few weeks before Aviemore last year, and finished building our own luges a few night before the event. As long as you are careful you will be ok, and you will learn a whole lot about the sport. If you do not compete I am sure the organisers would appreciate some extra marshalls. Email Chris Beard for details.
