If this is the kind of guy who you're going to stay with for a long time, he'll be the kind of guy who'll understand that some things can't be helped, and know that of course your first priority right now has to be your Dad.

If he doesn't understand, then it's his loss.

Sorry, I know that sounds really harsh! But it's not like you didn't have a damn good reason on both occasions to cancel. I'd be on his side a bit more if you just couldn't be arsed to go out!

I know you're right on every count I'm just so conflicted, I thought he would be more understanding. I can't just abandon my Dad when he's like this, he's starting to be very forgetful and confused, not all the time, most of the time he's fine but its a bad day today so he takes priority every time as far as I'm concerned.

Just chilling out alone this weekend, Richard is off visiting family. Getting ready for our holiday (off to Portugal with my side of the family in a weeks time). Should be good!
