(He smiled as he watched her take the marshmellows from the spoon, enjoying her.. this girl was a lot more like Shay than in just her looks.. she was also fun and easy to talk to and a bit too blunt for her own good.. but in such an endearing way. He frowned a bit as he thought about Haylie, taking a sip from his mug and leaning more on the counter, setting the spoon down and sighing.) She's the most amazing person I've ever met.. I met her at a conference and we had this easygoing sort of affair.. and both of us left upset with each other and didn't realize that we had something really special between us. (He smiled a little as he remembered how she had yelled at him in the foyer of the hotel.. and how he had felt like it was so helpless.) I got into this bad situation and got hurt real bad and she sort of saved me.. and then we got into more trouble and she got shot and I thought I had lost her and I think I realized at that moment that if i lost her I wouldn't really be anymore. (He furrowed his brow as he looked at her, as though wondering if she understood or if she thought he was nuts.) She's strong.. really strong.. she was teasing me about having a threesome with this friend of ours a few hours after she almost died.. hell, she couldn't talk but she ordered that friend of ours to take care of my injuries. I love her desperately and damnit if I don't feel like I've lost everything important in my life. I don't want to be here, working, when I feel like I should be finding her. (He gratefully took a place on the bed, stretching his tall frame out and packing the pillows in behind him so he was sitting up a bit so he could look at her, smirking when the help came in to light the fire.. gold digging didn't always mean hunting for it.. sometimes it just came to you.) I am not saying it's a bad thing, sweety.. you deserve it. (He had liked her husband as soon as he had met him.. he had welcomed him into his home while still looking out for those in his care. It took a strong man to do that, and somehow he had the feeling that the man's good fashion sense wasn't an accident either.) Yeah.. I married Shay.. and it has been the hardest thing I have ever done to leave her alone while she's pregnant.. even harder since seeing that girl.. Addie? She looks a lot like Shay and it makes me miss her to think she'll look so pretty like that pregnant. (He smiled wistfully, rubbing his hand over his chest a bit in the way he did when he was feeling short of breath, though it was clearing so he wasn't concerned.) I see you've picked up a bit of the accent too.. I like it. When are you due?
