(He nodded, understanding that she had been overwhelmed and that she had acted in the only way that she knew how - which was to protect herself from a situation she felt that she had put herself into. It broke his heart to think that she tossed blame on herself for falling for him in the first place.) I was too.. (He said with a sigh as she turned her face into his hand, he loved the feel of her soft breaths against his skin.. he had always enjoyed that when they slept together, feeling her breath against the skin of his neck or shoulder and knowing that she was safe and sound beside him. He had been taking sleeping pills lately just to make it through the night to get enough energy to make it through the day. The guilt of knowing what he had done the night was the only thing that was holding him back from just pulling her close and kissing her until she gave in and relaxed beneath him. He knew that a casual relationship was all she would allow him and because of his conversation with Addie he was having the feeling that he would go along with that idea with the stipulation that perhaps later on she would realize that being dependent on someone wasn't so bad.. because he was hoping that he would become used to that idea as it had been put into his head by the people living in the keep.) I need to get the fire going again or it will be freezing in her in a few moments.. will you stay here with me? (He asked lightly, his head tipping a little as he asked.)

- (He moved from her after running his hand over her cheek one last time. By the hearth, he knelt to stoke the coals beneath the remaining log before adding a couple more in and poking around until the fire had raised up. After holding his hands over it for a moment, he flipped the grate to let the air in to keep it burning hot and then turned to walk over to her. Seeing her sitting there, her brow furrowed and confusion written all over her, he felt a deep tenderness rise up inside him, making him want to take care of her - to prove that he could be the man she wanted him to be and that she couldn't go through life without loving and trusting him.) Yeah.. I told Addie I wasn't very hungry before.. (He eyed the plate of food and settled back down on the bed, his back against the headboard.)
