(He knew when Nellie spoke that she had a point, but that didn't mean that he had to be okay or happy with it.. he just had to accept it and move on. Frowning, he looked over at Lochlann and then at Griogair as if trying to see if there was a stamp on them that decreed their ability to recover from working with Wallace, but since that was pretty much a stupid notion, he had to take everyone's word for it. With a sigh, he narrowed his gaze at Griogair and lifted a hand to point at him as he growled.) I'll hear ye out, and I'll give ye a chance lad, just doona give me a chance to distrust ye anymore than I already do. (He said before walking over to stand behind Addie's chair, his hands on the back of it since he just wasn't ready to sit down yet.) (He rolled his eyes and spoke to Dageus in english, though his displeasure and annoyance were obvious even to Griogair.) Are you three, Dageus? Grow up and knock it off. (He looked over at Nellie and shook his head, knowing she was with him.. his brother was being a jackass. Running a hand back through his hair he looked over at Mairah and Griogair and nodded.) We'll have dinner now then, and discuss what has been going on. (He said as though he knew he was going to have to play referee for the remainder of the evening if Gavin and Dag intended on acting like toddlers despite their actual ages. He was actually pleased when Gavin took a seat beside Nellie, though he noticed that his friend's eyes were still thoughtfully narrowed. He asked one of the attendants to see that dinner was served and then motioned for Mairah and Griogair to take the seats across from Gavin and Nellie - conveniently farthest from Dageus.) (He nodded when Mairah looked back at him, agreeing with her decision before looking to Dare with an expression of gratitude for at least the willing ear, if not the vote of confidence in him. It was during times like this when he really acted his age and saught the approval and advice of those older than him.. even if that was only by a few years. He was intrigued by Balmoral and by it's charasmatic Laird.. and he wanted the chance to ask his advice about running the keep.. and perhaps about running a family as well. He really had no one to turn to when he was confused about things.. and to have an older male who was in the same boat as him look at him with a kind eye made him feel really good. He slipped his hand into Mairah's as Dare welcomed them to the table and held a chair for her to sit next to Jailynn before taking his own seat. He looked over at her and sighed a little.) Everyone doesnt have to speak in Gaelic for my benefit.. (He said in that low, conspiratorial tone, revealing the fact that he was feeling very uncomfortable with the situation. Most of the men were looking at him like he had crawled out from under a rock.. and the Laird's wife was upset that they were speaking another language.. if he could have disappeared, he would have.. he just wanted to get this over with.) (She watched the younger man as he tried to minimalize his existance behind his wife and was reminded so much of the time she had brought Lochlann home and her family had talked poorly about him as if he wasn't in the room. She remembered what that had felt like and she realized that she was pulling for the two of them, her eyes shifting to Loch's with a bit of a confused expression in them. Perhaps the lad really wasn't all that bad.. he surely didn't look like he was capable of killing someone, and lord knew she had a feeling Gavin was. She looked over at Gavin then and resolutely decided that she was reversing her decision.. Gavin was being an asshole and was more of a bastard in the longrun.)
