(He would never again in his life allow anyone to say that his wife, or any woman for that matter, was weak simply for being a woman.. because until a man had seen his woman experience labor he just wouldn't understand the kind of strength a woman posessed. In between pushes he had brushed her hair back and murmured softly to her in a mix of english and gaelic, running his hands over her body to ease the tension that was running through her as he felt her energy slipping from her. When the final pushes were bearing down, he coached her through them by simply reminding her that it was almost over.. that if she used what she had left she would be holding their bairn in a few moments.. it would all be over and she could relax. For the rest of his life, the sound of that first throaty cry would be something he would hold onto and cherish.. it was the arrival of life and it still awed him that they were able to create that. He gathered Jailynn close as she sank back against him and kissed her all over, excitement in his tone.) Ye did it, love.. ye hear that? That's our bairn tha's greetin' the world.. (He brushed her hair back and nuzzled his face against the side of her neck as he held her, cradling her in her exhaustion.) God, I love ye.. (He murmured to her as Nell and the doctor bustled off to clean the baby up.)

She was crying, straining to see her baby as she panted to get her breath. She was sore but feeling better already, reenergize at the idea of their baby being there. She rested her head back against his shoulder, biting her lip as she took a few deep breaths before looking up to him. "I love you too...so much..." She murmured, covering his hand with hers before she looked up as the doctor announced that the baby was a healthy little girl. Her eyes moved up to her husband, wondering how he would take the news of him being oh so wrong about the gender of his 'bairn'. "A baby girl..." She murmured, still in disbelief that she had just delivered a baby and suddenly stuck that her own mom wasn't here to see their little girl right then..though they would be there soon she believe.
