• She let out a soft breath, stepping close to him as she reached out gently. "Gavin...just let me in, love, my heart..I want to help you through your pain..." She murmured softly, hating that he wouldn't let her comfort him, hold him because he was to damn proud to let her see his weaknesses. It was ridiculous. She loved him enough to marry him, to raise his child as her own, to take over being the acting Princess of Scotland and he thought that his tears would make her love him less? • She sighed deeply, holding onto him for a long moment before she guided him over to the couch to sit down, her arms going around him as she let him slouch down and bury his damp face in her chest. Her hands soothed over his hair as she murmured encouraging and loving words to him, just quieting and calming him as best as she could while still allowing him to have his moment. She wasn't glad that he had to go through this but she was glad that he was letting it out finally, if he had continued on the way he was going she thought that perhaps he would have all together pretty much forgotten he even had a family to care for... The tears just kept coming for a long time after she guided him to the sofa, his arms around her and his face pressed to her chest as he let the pain and sorrow wash over him, finally letting someone else carry the burden with him. Slowly he became more and more conscious of her hands in his hair, the soft words she spoke in her gentle voice and the steady beat of her heart between them and he grief was reduced to a sort of trembling quiet. He shifted a little bit then, drawing her closer so that they were hugging more, just needing to have her close then, there was no need for words in his opinion.. not when he was feeling so connected to her.) • She hugged him tightly, pressing a tender kiss to his forehead as she raised her hand to brush his hair out of his face. They sat quietly for a good ten minutes, just holding one another before she gently brushed her lips under each of his eyes. After another few moments silence she pulled back to kiss him briefly on the lips right before she spoke. "We have a wee sick lad upstairs who is waitin' on us to tuck him in..." She murmured, her eyes moving over his. "We should go get on that and then take care of the situation with Mairah so we can get to our own bed...well our bed here...for the night..." She knew he had to be feeling emotional drained, it wasn't often Gavin Roderick broke down like that nor was it often he let his emotions control him so thoroughly so she had a feeling he had to be exhausted... • (He felt like he had just spent every ounce of energy in his body as he sat up and gazed at her. His head was aching a little bit and his chest hurt from crying.. he knew he probably looked a wreck as well. He ran a hand over her cheek after she kissed him and let his finger sift through her hair, his quiet way of thanking her for being there for him. He nodded at the mention of Gavrael and slipped his hand into hers as he got to his feet.) Aye, I think I could fall asleep standing here.. (He shook his head a little bit, walking with her up to the room that Gavrael always stayed in at Balmoral. • She understood that he needed a few more minutes to collect himself so she busied herself by fussing over Gavrael who sucked it up big time - he loved being babied when he was sick. She held him up and checked his fever, made sure he ate his soup and then just stretched out, cuddling with him quietly. She ran her hand over his head gently, murmuring soothingly to him when he asked her to tell him a story and then called for his Da to come and sit and listen to the story too. • (He had only looked out the window for a moment before turning to lean against the frame and watch the two of them. The cool breeze was welcome and the highland air smelled sweet with spring.. it was soothing to him. When she turned to look at him, he had a soft smile on his handsome face from having watched her tend to his son as if he were her's by blood and not just by love. Gavrael had never been happier than he was when he was with Nellie and he appreciated that instead of being jealous of it, though he realized that he had been neglecting the lad a lot lately. When the boy called for him, he flicked the cigarette he had been smoking out the window and pulled it closed again so that it wouldn't become drafty in the room before walking over to stretch out with his family on the bed, laying so that he was on the other side of Gav, looking over at Nellie in anticipation of their story.) • Soon she was weaving a tale of a young prince who saved the land from all the bad things, making Gavrael the hero and adding in lots of exciting twists. She went on for about a half hour before the lad fell asleep next to them and she quietly trailed off, running her hand tenderly over his forehead to brush back his shaggy hair before she looked to her husband. "Aye, yer both needin' a haircut sometime soon..." She murmured absently, making quiet small talk as she looked up at him, her eyes searching his to make sure he was ok.   • "Aye, I am tired...but tis early still." She murmured softly, tipping her head to the side as she watched him for a long moment before she let out a soft breath and smiled a little at him. "We should go back down and see how things are going with everyone going on down there..." She stated softly before she looked up suddenly as she heard the scream echo through the keep. "What was that?!" She exclaimed, jumping off the bed after making sure Gavrael was still asleep and heading out into the hallway, looking both ways to see if anyone was out there. She would need to get used to being a princess and the security measures she should take, jumping out into the hallway after hearing a scream was exactly precautionary. • (He had been about to respond to her when the scream echoed through the halls and his wee wife decided it would be okay to make a leap into what could have been a definite fray. His military training had him following her out and closing the door behind him, taking her around the waist and pulling her back to his chest even though he was smiling.) She stated, laughing as she saw Dageus pacing the hallways like some sort of fierce warrior who was protecting the room. "Och..." She murmured, resting her head back against her husbands shoulder. "Look at him, if he's this bad now..imagine what he's going to be like when his own bairn is born." She smirked, shaking her head before she looked up at her husband, biting her lip at his words. "Aye...didna think about that..." She was still getting used to always having a 'companion' with her and it was a little strange to feel like she was being followed all the time.   • She nodded a little sheepishly at that. "Aye, I'll think before I run investigating a strange noise." She smiled warmly before she sighed, the night was drawing to a close and it had been a long day but there were still things to be figured out about Griogair and Mairah...perhaps those things would be best left for the morning though. They had a busy month ahead of them, it would be her first visit to court and the king was a little nervous about how the spirited new princess would handle that - she'd already taken matters into her own hands more then once or twice or even three times if she was honest. "How are ye feeling, love?" She questioned, knowing he had gone through a lot that night, emotionally drained for sure.
