(He had been monitoring her breathing and her condition the entire time they had been in the car and had thought they were going to make it in time. He had gathered her up in his lap and tucked her head under his chin, one hand on the side of her head and the other on her side as he murmured soothingly to her, his voice a little shaky from the ride of the car and his own nerves. He felt as though she was steady and was going to be strong enough to pull through without straining her heart, but the change happened so quickly that for a second he wasn't sure what had happened to her.) Haylie? (He murmured, wondering if the morphine had allowed her a respite from the pain.. he wasn't going to allow himself to even think that she had died, even if he knew it was possible.. life couldn't be that cruel to him. He shifted her closer to him and brought his ear near her lips, listening to the very faint and almost raspy breathing coming from her. His hand shifted from the side of her head to her throat and he felt how faint her pulse was, his other hand shifting to nudge her a little as she went completely lax in his arms.) Damnit.. Haylie?! (He didn't realize how wounded his voice sounded when he cursed, it was a pained and authoratative sound, as though he were both begging and demanding her to wake up and come back to him.. to stop playing this game with his heart and be okay. The only thing he registered from then was that the car had stopped.. he had gotten out and called out to a doctor, sort of taking over in his arrogant way and demanding the bewildered Thai-speaking emergency room workers to do whatever was necessary in the situation.. it took a few moments for an english speaking doctor to jog over and try to soothe him. He wasn't really listening to anyone though, behaving in the same manner he had at the safehouse, unwilling to let her out of his arms until he was reassured she would be well tended to, he was arguing with the doctor in an irate tone that was scaring a lot of the other people in the ER.. it just wasn't a good situation for a man that was as protective as Kyrian was of Haylie.) (She sighed, her eyes shifting from the almost mesmorizing shade of his eyes to the cast on her arm.. it was really sore, though more in her hand than anything else.. she had a feeling the nerves were still sort of cranky about the way she had been manhandled.) I think it will be find, I am just hoping there will be minimal opposition, I picked up my gun earlier and it was really hard to grip correctly, makes my hand hurt. (She pursed her lips a little, but then shrugged and brought her eyes back to him.) It will be fine though, I've been in combat with worse injuries than this and survived.
