(He smiled as she rolled her eyes at the sedan.) He said they were of monster trucks and sports cars. (He teased, feeling more lighthearted from their time on the bus than he had in a while. He gingerly got into the sedan and mentally geared himself up for the four hours drive ahead of them... though oddly enough it was Haylie who was going to be exerting herself. He nodded at her question, slowly shifting to lower the seat a bit and shift so she could get at his hip. Ordinarily the position would have been welcome in the confined space, but with her holding a needle and his body yelling profanities at him... he just wanted it over with.) More than ready, sweety. (He said softly, the first actual admition he'd made the entire time about the pain he was in. His eyes wandered her face as she administered the shot and he shifted his body into a more comfortable position, leaning his head back to absorb the wash of calm that would be approaching as the drug entered his blood.)

- (He had slept on and off for forty minutes until the morphine fully kicked in then he had been out cold until they got to the hotel. He woke to the press of her lips against his, his eyes focusing after a moment and his good hand lifting to her cheek before she pulled back, his expression somewhat dazed and lopsidedly pleased to see her. At her words, he groaned.) Remind me to kiss you again when we're inside. (He said at the wonderful thought of a bed, unfolding his frame from the car with another completely different groan, and then following her inside once the car was locked up.) Whew..nice digs.. (He teased, looking around the dimly lit room.. the sort of place a hooker might bring a john.. but the bed looked clean and he didn't really care at the moment.) How are you holding up? (He asked with a yawn, looking at her as she set the back down, his mossy eyes rimmed with dark circles from the trip, he could only imagine how tired she would be.)
