(He nodded, his eyes on their joined hands for a long moment as he absently smiled at her quip about Remy, trying to gather his thoughts which had scattered at her touch. He had needed her so much that now that she was there he was feeling addled and outside himself. He wanted to go back to the hotel and what they had had that night when Remy and Shay had married, he'd never felt so free and alive in his life before or since. Now that he was here with her he realized that he'd hit the lowest point in his life and that she was the bit of hope he was harboring to get him through it.) Yeah.. I thought of you and how much I wish I had said a lot of things before I left. (He brought his eyes up to hers as her fingers curled into his and deepened the touch in a way that had his heart skipping.) I do regret how things ended at the hotel. (He didn;t know how she felt, and didn't want to indulge much more in case she didn't feel the same and the admition would strain their working relationship in a way that he wasn't ready to handle.) I just want you to know that I've never been in a relationship with a woman before, so if I screwed things up, it's because I was overwhelmed and not used to feeling like that.

(He said in a voice that was almost a whisper, not meant to be outloud and therefore from the heart.) My only regret was that I never had a chance to tell you that our time at the hotel meant a lot more to me than you know.
