I think there is less prejudice than this thread represents. I am white, middle aged and this summer I wanted Briana! And the majority of my friends wanted her roo! Saw Meg slipping up toward the end. Then I totally had SC as my winner until she sang. She didn't have talent. And with no ranking it didn't surprise me when she didn't advance. I may be wrong but I honestly don't believe it's race.

I am white. I think that SC was very pretty, but I, too, did not see her winning.
I am also a Briana AND Mi'a fan. I think that both young women have a great chance of being Miss Alabama. They are very different, but they are both exceptional in many ways. (Wouldn't you white people be insulted if everyone thought that you were the same as any other white person? I would!) Each has a good chance because she exhibits many qualities that are required of Miss Alabama, NOT because she happens to be black. I am offended when people break it down to race. I don't see the contestants as black or white, but as outstanding young women. I think that most judges in the Miss America System feel the same way.
