new development this week in the countdown to the Democratic National Convention: Philip J. Berg has filed a lawsuit, in which he alleges that Barack Hussein Obama is ineligible to run for President. His allegations are based on questions about Obama's citizenship. He has asked the U.S District Court to declare Obama ineligible for the presidency on the basis that he is not a natural born American citizen. A separate motion was filed to seek a temporary restraining order against Obama's presidential campaign until Obama's eligibility to run for President can be verified.

Obama's citizenship is being questioned in several different ways. First, is whether or not he was actually born in Hawaii. If he was born in Hawaii, in 1961, He was born on US soil. There is one group that would even dispute that Hawaii is US soil, but the allegation in the lawsuit suggests that Obama was already born In Kenya before he ever made it to Hawaii. Several Of Obama's own relatives say he was born in Kenya, and his Mother flew herself and the infant Barack Obama to get his birth registered as if he was born in Hawaii, making him a US Citizen. The birth certificate lists the race of his father as "African". In 1961, that would not be the term used to designate a race. Berg has additional evidence that the birth certificate was a forgery, including the fact that there is no record of his birth in any hospital in Hawaii.

The suit also claims that even if Obama had an American citizenship, he lost it when his mother married another man and the whole family moved to Indonesia. This action gave Obama an Indonesian citizenship. This would also put into question if he were an American citizen even now.

According to the suit, Obama flew to Pakistan in 1981 using an Indonesian Passport. There is evidence that also has Obama with a Kenyan citizenship. To have loyalties divided among three countries would make a person ineligible to run for president according to Berg.
