I was introduced to the douche by my mother when I was 13 and just started my periods. She suggested it may help with the period pains I suffered and indeed it did.
I used to take several long warm douches during the early part of my periods, then another at the end of the period, and usually one in mid cycle.
When I married I also usually douched in the morning after we had made love.
Soon discovered that my husband was always ready to approach me for sex if he had noticed the bag hanging in the shower, as he knew my period was over with and I would be amenable.

I am now 60 and still douche every two weeks or so, for the feeling of freshness and also becausd I find it pleasant and relaxing. My husband is still turned on seeing the equipment out to dry!

I have ever had any problems from using the douche regularly, neither has my daughter who has also been douching since her early teens. I have never experienced thrush or other vaginal health problems either. So despite the anti douche brigade, I intend to continue enjoying it!
