It just depends on the festival, Click in -- Anonymous, 14:46:11 04/17/06 Mon [1]
>Some Festivals allow you to but some are contracted and do not allow you to compete for anything during your reign. Just check with the festival first ! here is a list of some that DO NOT allow you to compete: Washington Catfish, Cattle , Erath 4th of july, and I believ there are a few more. Hope this helps. But one question why would you Want to be a festival queen and have to travel ever weekend when you want to be Mrs Louisiana. unless the festival represents a charity and it happens to be there charity that you work with already as part of your platform? Just a question..

This also makes me wonder how a fest can be a prelim. It seems like it would a conflict of interest -- Anonymous, 17:05:35 04/17/06 Mon [1]

>and I dom't know of a festival that is considered a prelim to one of the louisiana pageants. But again why on earth would you want to be a festval queen if you are try to be Mrs louisiana America or U.S?

A festival queen usually has 5-10 events to attend.. c/i -- Anonymous, 12:28:44 04/18/06 Tue [1]
Some festival queens are contracted, some just can not compete for another fair or festival title. Mrs. Louisiana has different obligations then a festival queen. Why wouldn't a women want to take advantage of both opportunities if she can. It would be very very easy for a dedicated queen to handle both the festival title, as well as the title of Mrs. Louisiana.
