I have had good and bad ones and male and female ones and I have seen no corralation between gender and being a good doctor. One of the roughest doctors I ever had was a woman. I also question that a woman would automatically know more about cramps etc. Don't slap me, but I think I have maybe had 1 cramp in my 37 years.

hate you LOL! I suppose you never get PMS either. Sheesh. I get all that and more. My gyn. happens to be a woman and she's great, but not solely because of her gender. She's not rooted entirely in traditional medicine and keeps so up to date on new treatments, studies, non-traditional medicine etc. But she also experiences all the same crap I go to her for so I guess gender is a factor for me by default. I actually had one male (not a gyn) doctor tell me that PMS is not a real thing, it's an excuse. Never went back to him.
