Subject: For years, I had a 20 minute commute
In reply to: niki 's message, "How far to work?" on 10:56:33 09/06/10 Mon

Then, I switched jobs and my commute became 35-40 minutes and I hated it. When we bought our house 2 years ago though, we didn't move closer to work. The house is forever and the jobs probably aren't. And, since I quit, that was obviously correct. Steve still has a 45 minute commute but we're less than 2 miles from my parents' house and that's big help sometimes. Plus, if we had moved to a different suburb two years ago, I wouldn't be on the Planning Commission and everything else now. Believe me, the pollution caused by our two commutes bothered me but I figured since you can't count on retiring from the same employer, it was better to pick the retirement house.
