We had a local baker, Tastefully Simple, Pampered Chef, Noah's Ark (similar to Build a Bear), Longaberger, Tupperware, and some body lotion company that I wasn't familiar with. They all had several products to auction off.

You purchase a numbered paddle for $1.00 when you first get there. (You can purchase as many paddles as you want.) The Auctioneer tells you what you are bidding on. It may be for a specific item or it may be your choice if you win. Each bid is a quarter. You put your quarter in a bowl on the table and then hold your paddle up to show that you have put a bid in. (If you are using more than one paddle, each paddle is a quarter to bid.) Each numbered paddle has a corresponding poker chip with the same number on it. All the poker chips are placed in a bag. The auctioneer draws a chip from the bag. If it is your number and you put a quarter in the bowl to bid on it, you yell "WOO HOO" and get your prize. If your number is drawn and you did not put a quarter in the bowl, you say "No Bid" and they draw another number. They then go on to the next item.

This one was to support our local library. They have them as fundraisers for all kinds of things. Pretty cool. I'll be watching for the next one.
