Subject: New tour - no Gretsch!

I got my hands on a few really good DVDs of the recent RHCP gigs. John's using the white battered Strat for 'Californication', no Gretsch in sight. I have to say, these recent gigs are amazing. John's soloing at the peak of his poweres. You have to get some of these off Ebay. They're really worth it. Rock In Rio and Milan are the best. What John's pulling off is really astounding. His cover of 'Emily...' is worth it alone.
I'm off to see them at the Oxygen (sic) festival next weekend. For once, no beer, I'll be at the front. I don't think I'll see John any better than how he's performing now. Watching these DVDs brings happy tears to my eyes each time, my lips tremble. On rhythm, lead and vocally he's totally peaking. Don't miss it.
