I know you like a good debate, and I am one that likes one too so here it goes, buddy..ready?

You are saying that Johnny's Mom didn't like the bus driver being mean. Okay, I deal with those parents every day. They are the ones that can't believe their child is partying in a ditch up on Primrose when they get older. I wasn't making that comment because I believed my child shouldn't be yelled at for misbehavior. Hell, they are use to it. I am a Drill Sergeant at home..you have to be with 5 kids.

I am talking about yelling at a kid with Cerebral Palsey to HURRY UP BECAUSE HE IS MAKING EVERYONE LATE! I am talking about a bus driver that yells at a parent because she isn't WALKING FAST enough with her kids down a hill, and she is in a hurry! I am talking about a bus driver that flings the finger out the window when a parent asks why she left her Kindergarden child at a corner with no parent there yet.

Bus issues are not like the old days. I started out working for 2.00 an hour. I guess we are both dating ourselves here, but I also didn't have kids. I was just beginning to work at 16, after working several years prior to that at a local variety store. Bus issues now are who gets the contract for the lowest price, and at what cost of safety to our children? When a school gets 137 calls of complaint in one day, several of the workers at the school now drive their children because their children are PETRIFIED of the bus drivers, and kids are left at a school because two are too lazy to go and fill in for the bus that is late, that is a major problem. This is a world of child molesters, rapists, and pornographers. Heck, you know we house a few here in Dracut. One is on house arrest! Wouldn't you worry a bit if your child didn't show up from school two hours after school ended?

These aren't petty complaints, but true issues. There is a personal problem when one parent complains that Johnny shouldn't be yelled at cuz he broke the window in the back of the bus while flinging his knife. There is a severe problem when the whole town is in an uproar and complaining, both in person and in writing, and they are being told there is nothing that can be done but to "talk" to the bus company.

Also, if you decide on sidewalks in Dracut, could you give us ample warning? I can't even get out of my driveway now if someone parks behind me at the house across the street from me. You will have to hit us up for a tax increase, because the streets will have to be widened also...or do we need grinder pumps for that? I get confused.
