Stephanie, I can see the perception that may have been created when I declined others attendance at our meeting. I do appologize. However, I was doing that with respect to Chief Panas and Officer Curtis. I did not want the meeting to turn into a town wide complaining session. The last thing I wanted to do was to turn them off and let them think this was nothing more than ganging up on them. Through our conversations prior to the meeting they were clear that they only expected residents of our area. The building they chose for the meeting (Dracut Historical Society) clearly indicated they wanted a small, group. It accommodated about 15 people comfortably. However, if you did read the post I sent back, I encourage any others to contact me, so that the next meeting (assuming there will be one)could more fully address the needs of our community, not just street A, B, or C. I offered to converse with others just as we are. Didn't hear another word. Like you said people are willing to complain, but when push comes to shove, they turn the other cheek. Ok, so lets not focus on the perceptions, reading between the lines stuff. According to Chief Panas and Officer Curtis they identified about 10 areas throughout town they consider problematic regarding speeding and their inability to enforce the speed limit 24/7. Marsh Hill and Old Marsh Hill were identified as well as Phineas Steet, Mammoth Road, Passconaway, Lakeview (a given), Parker Ave. They didn't identify them all by name, but I'm sure we could come up with a few other hot spots. I'm trying to regroup and decide my next step. I have been coined the "Chairman/person" of our little group. I have the distinct impression that means I'm supposed to do all the work, unfortunately. I think we should talk in more detail, compare notes if you will.
