I am the one fed up after 9 years, and would love a solution. Something else you should know..I have buried one child. I do not ever want to face that again!

The funny thing is, most of the speeders I see do NOT live in our neighborhood. They are either picking someone up, or visiting. The ones with children seem to care, and drive slowly. Personally, I do no more than 20 down my street, and never go above 25 up Passaconaway, or down Bouchard. I have caught myself going 30 on Bouchard, but only when the hill picks up. But, I hit the break right away.

But, like I said..I have buried a child. I don't want any other parent to feel that pain. Although the circumstances were different, the outcome is the same. The grief lasts a lifetime, and no one should have to face it.

And, I did address the overpopulation issue. I have been fighting this since I came back to Dracut 24 years ago, growing up in the Marsh Hill area. I watched house after house being built on the old swamp area, and car after car coming down that once, very quiet street.

Now, I live on the lake, which use to just have houses that were summer homes. Now, it is houses on top of houses, and looks more like Lowell than some areas of Lowell do.

It is a shame that someone doesn't wake up and realize that Dracut has got to take a break from development. The town has never caught up from the postage-stamp issue, our schools are overcrowded, as well as many other issues. The building has to stop, and give this town a breather.

So you know, a proposal was shot down by our town officials, making Dracut stop development for a little while. It was proposed, I believe, either last year or the year before.

I don't want big business here. I like our town feeling. I don't want places to hang out, or shopping malls or anything else that makes our town a city. I just want the town to wake up and realize that we went way too fast and we need to catch up with where we have gone thus far.

Speeding issues are just one of the many problems, as new houses go up, farms come down, gift shops close, and I watch my entire childhood fade away into executive housing.

I have left my email above. Last time I did this, I got awful responses. I hope to hear only from you all that realize the same things I do..this has all got to stop until we are able to get a grip on things...before the next 3 car garage goes up!

Sincerely,
A Dracut resident for over 25 years
Kelly
