Fed up and Stephanie, I think we're all on the same page here regarding the speeding issue throughout our town. Each of us equally concerned about our own roads and neighborhoods. However, I drive throughout this town daily, carting the kids here and there and try to be respective of your neighborhoods. It's an unfortunate reality that not everyone has this consideration. One issue that we have not fully addressed but have elude to is that fact that the "town" has grown into a mini city. With continued residential development and several very large subdivision on the books, things are likely to get worse before they get better. Do either of you, or anyone else reading this post, know anything about how the town's Master Plan works? Where is there a copy for the residents to review? Does it address improvement to the towns infastructure such as sidewalk, curbing, etc. I find it almost impossible to believe that a growning town forgot to address these needs for improvement. Heck if they can shell out some bucks for one of those GPS systems to located utilities, you'd think they could stick in a sidewalk here or there. A scary reality hit home the other day as I was walking a bend in my road (being forced into the road due to overgrown brush) and had a car whiz by me so closely I nearly was knocked over. Believe me, as Fall approaches that is my walking season. My favorite season of them all. I can only hope that I can remain safe enough to be able to walk in my own neighborhood. Should an accident ever occur and me or one of my family members is ever hurt, I would hold not only the driver but the town liable. They are aware of the dangerous situation we have come to live with, and just seem to want to pass the buck regarding our concerns. I guess that would be my own type of viligante justice! Fed up, Stephanie and I interested on meeting at some point to discuss these issues. I'd like it if you'd consider joining us. Your 9 year battle on this one could provide us some of the avenues that have already failed. Don't feel bad. One of the gentlemen who attended our meeting with the police, has been battling this issue for over 20 years? Yikes!
